HFHNU SEEKS TO ELIMINATE SUBSTANDARD HOUSING BY PROVIDING SELF-HELP HOMEOWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES. WE BUILD OR RENOVATE DECENT, AFFORDABLE HOMES AND OFFER NO-PROFIT, ZERO INTEREST MORTGAGES, WITH AFFORDABLE MONTHLY PAYMENTS. A TRUE "HAND UP", NOT JUST A "HANDOUT"
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE ONLY PROGRAM SERVICE PROVIDED IS PROVIDING HOMES TO LOW INCOME FAMILIES ON TERMS THEY CAN AFFORD; NAMELY, AT NO PROFIT WITH A NO-INTEREST LOAN. THE ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT ARE THOSE NECESSARY TO PLAN, DIRECT, MANAGE, COORDINATE, PROMOTE AND IMPLEMENT THE PROGRAM TO BUILD HOMES FOR FAMILIES SELECTED FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE PROGRAM. UNTIL A HOME IS COMPLETED AND SOLD, EXPENSES TO RENNOVATE THE HOME ARE CODED TO CONSTRUCTION IN PROGRESS. THEREFORE, THE EXPENSES BALANCE ABOVE UNDERSTATES THE ACTUAL PROGRAM EXPENSES DURING THE YEAR.
