CORE SERVICES: RESOURCES FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING IS ONE OF 29 INDEPENDENT LIVING CENTERS LOCATED IN COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT CALIFORNIA. ALTHOUGH EACH CENTER IS AUTONOMOUS, THEY ALL PROVIDE SEVEN CORE SERVICES: 1. ADVOCACY & LEGISLATIVE MONITORING (MEDIATING ON BEHALF OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES) 2. HOUSING (ASSISTANCE IN FINDING ACCESSIBLE & AFFORDABLE HOUSING) 3. ATTENDANT REGISTRY & REFERRAL (SCREENING, PLACEMENT & TRAINING OF QUALIFIED PERSONAL ASSISTANTS) 4. INFORMATION & REFERRAL (PROVIDING DISABLED INDIVIDUALS WITH NECESSARY SERVICES & INFORMATION) 5. PEER COUNSELING (SUPPORT & ROLE MODELS FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LIVE MORE INDEPENDENTLY) 6.
