Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
THE JUSTIN-SIENA HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION WAS FORMED IN 1972 TO ESTABLISH AND ADMINISTER A PERPETUAL ENDOWMENT FUND FOR THE BENEFIT OF JUSTIN-SIENA HIGH SCHOOL. THE FOUNDATION MANAGES LIFETIME CONTRIBUTIONS AND ESTATE GIFTS WITH THE GOAL OF PRESERVING, PROTECTING, AND GROWING THE DONORS' GIFT BY MAKING IT PART OF A PERMANENT ENDOWMENT. THE ENDOWMENT FUND IS MANAGED BY PROFESSIONAL INVESTMENT ADVISORS AND INVESTMENT PERFORMANCE IS MONITORED BY THE FOUNDATION'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE FOUNDATION MAKES AN ANNUAL GRANT TO THE SCHOOL TO ASSIST WITH NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT, CURRICULUM ENRICHMENT, AND THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF FACULTY. ONE OF THE GOALS OF THE ENDOWMENT IS TO PROVIDE A PRESENT AND GROWING STREAM OF INCOME SO THAT THE BURDEN OF SUPPORTING THE SCHOOL DOES NOT FALL ON TUITION ALONE. THERE ARE THREE MAIN GIVING AREAS THAT COMPRISE THE ENDOWMENT: PLANNED GIFTS BY NAMING THE FOUNDATION IN A WILL OR ESTATE PLAN, OR AS A BENEFICIARY DESIGNATION OF A RETIREMENT PLAN OR LIFE INSURANCE POLICY; MEMORIAL AND COMMEMORATIVE GIFTS IN RECOGNITION OF PAST OR PRESENT FRIENDS AND FAMILY; AND, DONOR DESIGNATED PROGRAMS, SUCH AS ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS AND PROGRAM ENDOWMENTS, WHICH ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE SCHOOL'S MISSION AND THE FOUNDATION'S POLICIES.
