HEAD START AND EARLY HEAD START PROMOTES SCHOOL READINESS BY ENHANCING SOCIAL AND COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-INCOME CHILDREN THROUGH THE PROVISION OF COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH, EDUCATIONAL, NUTRITIONAL, SOCIAL AND OTHER SERVICES.
STATE PRESCHOOL AND GENERAL CHILD CARE PROGRAM PART-DAY TO FULL-DAY COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES. THE PROGRAMS EMPHASIZE PARENT EDUCATION AND ENCOURAGING PARENT INVOLVEMENT.CHILDREN ENROLLED IN CAPE CHILD CARE PROGRAMS ARE SERVED BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND AFTERNOON SNACKS (FULL-DAY PROGRAMS) TO MEET THEIR DAILY NUTRITIONAL NEEDS THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA CHILD AND ADULT CARE FOOD PROGRAM.
