GOODWILL PROVIDES HANDS-ON, PAID JOB TRAINING TO THOSE FACING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT, SUCH AS MULTI-GENERATIONAL POVERTY, HISTORY OF INCARCERATION, LIMITED EDUCATION OR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILLS, NO WORK EXPERIENCE, AND DISABILITIES. WHILE PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE REAL-LIFE JOB TRAINING, THEY ALSO PARTICIPATE IN CASE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SERVICES AND ATTEND CLASSES IN EMPLOYMENT READINESS, COMPUTER LITERACY, AND JOB SEARCH SKILLS. NEARLY FORTY PERCENT OF ALL JOBS PERFORMED WITHIN SOCIAL ENTERPRISE OPERATED BY GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE GREATER EAST BAY ARE PERFORMED BY THOSE WHO ARE NOT EMPLOYABLE IN THE LABOR MARKET AND ARE LEARNING HOW TO WORK IN ORDER TO BECOME COMPETITIVELY EMPLOYED.
