THE CENTER FOR URBAN AGRICULTURE AT FAIRVIEWGARDENS IS AN ORGANIC FARM THAT SERVES AS A LIVING LABORATORY AND PROVIDES COMMUNITY AND YOUTH EDUCATION. THESE PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDE: -THE SPROUTS PROGRAM ALLOWS INFANTS AND TODDLERS, ALONGSIDE THEIR PARENTS OR GUARDIANS, TO EXPERIENCE THE JOY OF THE FARM THROUGH PLAY, STORYTELLING, ART, AND MUSIC. CHILDREN AND ADULTS DEVELOP LASTING CONNECTIONS TO THE NATURAL WORLD BY EXPLORING THE GARDEN USING ALL OF THEIR SENSES, ENJOYING A FARM FRESH SNACK, AND SPENDING TIME WITH THE FARM ANIMALS. -THE CARROT TOP ENRICHMENT PROGRAM PROVIDES PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTENSTUDENTS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE UNSTRUCTURED EXPLORATION IN THE GARDENAND OPEN-ENDED PLAY IN A FARM ENVIRONMENT WHILE MAKING FRIENDS AND BUILDINGCOMMUNITY. -FARM SCHOOL IS AN AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM DESIGNED FOR 1ST - 4TH GRADERS. STUDENTS ENGAGE WITH THE SEASONAL AND DAILY CYCLES OF THE FARM ENVIRONMENT AND DISCOVER THE BEAUTY AND WONDERS OF THE NATURAL WORLD. THROUGH HANDS-ONLEARNING, EDUCATIONAL GAMES, NATURE INSPIRED ART PROJECTS, STORIES, AND SONGS,STUDENTS BUILD CONNECTIONS TO THE FARM, THE NATURAL WORLD, AND THE COMMUNITY. -LOCAL SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS FOR GRADES K-12 ENABLE US TO EXPAND OUR COMMITMENT TO TEACHING OUR YOUTH ABOUT THE NEXUS OF FOOD, AGRICULTURE, AND COMMUNITY. -THE HOMESCHOOL ON THE FARM PROGRAM PROVIDES YOUTH AN OPPORTUNITY TO CONNECT WITH EACH OTHER WHILE PARTICIPATING IN FARM AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION ACTIVITIES. -THE TEEN AGRICULTURAL INTERNSHIP CONNECTS TEENS TO THE PROCESS OF GROWING FOOD FROM SEED TO HARVEST. -SUMMER CAMPS RUN FROM JUNE THROUGH AUGUST IN IMMERSIVE WEEK-LONG SESSIONS.
