TO COOPERATE WITH THE NEWPORT PUBLIC LIBRARY TO ENCOURAGE EDUCATION AND THE READING OF BOOKS THROUGH A WIDE USE OF THE LIBRARY FACILITIES AND TO GENERALLY BENEFIT, SUPPORT, AND PROMOTE THE ACTIVITIES OF THE NEWPORT PUBLIC LIBRARY.

Part 3 - Line 4a

PURCHASE LIBRARY MATERIALS AND SUPPORT LIBRARY PROGRAMS. THERE WAS AN INCREASE IN INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATING IN THE YOUTH SUMMER READING PROGRAM, THE YOUTH MONTHLY OUTREACH PROGRAM AND THE ADULT SUMMER READING PROGRAM. ALL OTHER ADULT PROGRAMS SAW INCREASES IN PARTICIPANTS AS WELL. THE FOUNDATION FOCUSED ON ACQUIRING ITEMS FOR THE LIBRARY OF THINGS, LAPTOP LENDING, AND IMPROVING THE SPANISH AND INDIGENOUS LANGUAGE BOOK COLLECTIONS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO FUNDED THE CREATION OF A NEW OUTDOOR LEARNING SPACE.
