BRIGHTSIDE ANIMAL CENTER IS DEDICATED TO ENRICHING THE LIVES OF DISPLACED ANIMALS THROUGH QUALITY CARE AND ADOPTION TO A RESPONSIBLE LOVING HOME.

ANIMAL CARE AND ADOPTIONS: IN 2021, THE BRIGHTSIDE ANIMAL CENTER CARED FOR 1,504 ANIMALS. THE ORGANIZATION IS A RESPONSIBLE, OPEN ADMISSION SHELTER AND SERVICES THE TRI-COUNTY AREA OF DESCHUTES, JEFFERSON AND CROOK COUNTIES. THE LIVE RELEASE RATE WAS 96.89%. BRIGHTSIDE ANIMAL CENTER REUNITED 299 ANIMALS WITH THEIR OWNERS, AND ADOPTED 1132 INTO NEW HOMES. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS TO ENHANCE THE LIVES OF THE ANIMALS RESIDING AT THE SHELTER WHILE WAITING FOR ADOPTIVE HOMES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CONTINUES TO DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER SHELTERS AND RESCUE GROUPS TO PLACE ANIMALS THAT MIGHT DO BETTER IN A DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENT OR WITH A GROUP MORE SKILLED WITH PARTICULAR BREEDS. ALL ANIMALS ADOPTED OUT ARE SPAYED OR NEUTERED, MICROCHIPPED, HAVE HAD NECESSARY VACCINATIONS, NECESSARY VETERINARY PROCEDURES SUCH AS DENTAL PROCEDURES, TUMOR REMOVALS, OR OTHER MEDICAL NEEDS CARED FOR, AND HAVE HAD REGULAR EXERCISE AND SOCIALIZATION TO HELP THEM TO BE READY FOR THEIR HOMES. IN 2021, THE VETERINARY TEAM AT BRIGHTSIDE ANIMAL CENTER PERFORMED 821 SPAYS AND NEUTERS, AND 2,957 ANIMAL EXAMS.
THE BRIGHTSIDE ANIMAL CENTER THRIFT STORE IS A LARGE CONTRIBUTOR TO THE ORGANIZATION'S OPERATING INCOME. THE PUBLIC CONTINUES TO SUPPORT THE MISSION OF BRIGHTSIDE ANIMAL CENTER THROUGH DONATIONS OF FURNITURE, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND CLOTHING THAT ARE PROCESSED BY VOLUNTEERS AND THEN PUT BACK INTO CIRCULATION AT VERY REASONABLE PRICES.
