THROUGH A COMBINATION OF INDIVIDUALIZED SERVICES AND ADVOCACY EFFORTS, INDEPENDENT LIVING RESOURCES' (ILR) PROGRAMS ASSIST PEOPLE IN MAXIMIZING THEIR INDEPENDENCE AND INTEGRATION INTO ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES AN ARRAY OF SERVICES INCLUDING INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, PEER SUPPORT COUNSELING, SUPPORT GROUPS, ADVOCACY, TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES AND OTHER PROGRAMS AND CLASSES. INDEPENDENT LIVING RESOURCES SERVES PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS IN THE PORTLAND METROPOLITAN AREA.

INDEPENDENT LIVING AWARD FROM THE INDEPENDENT LIVING ADMINISTRATION (ILA) WITHIN THE ADMINISTRATION FOR COMMUNITY LIVING (ACL) AT THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES: ILR SERVED ABOUT 300 CONSUMERS WITH INTENSIVE PEER COUNSELING SERVICES, SERVED MORE THAN 600 PERSONS WITH INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES AND/OR OPTIONS COUNSELING, AND PROVIDED MORE THAN 100 HOURS OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION SERVICES TO PERSONS IN A THREE COUNTY AREA. ILR ALSO PARTICIPATED IN A SUPPLEMENTAL CARES ACT AWARD AND MADE MORE THAN $100,000 IN FINANCIAL RELIEF AWARDS TO CONSUMERS THROUGH THE ILR INDEPENDENT LIVING RELIEF FUND.
