THE NEVILLE PUBLIC MUSEUM FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THE EXHIBITS AND PROGRAMS FOR THE NEVILLE PUBLIC MUSEUM OF BROWN COUNTY AND SERVES ALMOST 50,000 PEOPLE A YEAR. THE NEVILLE PUBLIC MUSEUM IS AN AAM ACCREDITED MUSEUM CATERING TO YOUTH, FAMILIES, AND SENIORS TO EDUCATE, ENLIGHTEN, AND ENRICH PEOPLE'S LIVES. THE NEVILLE PUBLIC MUSEUM, FOUNDED IN 1915, HAS BEEN COLLECTING, PRESERVING, INTERPRETING, EXHIBITING, AND PROVIDING ACCESS TO AUTHENTIC OBJECTS OF SIGNIFICANCE TO OUR COMMUNITY. THE NEVILLE PUBLIC MUSEUM HOLDS ITS COLLECTIONS IN PUBLIC TRUST FOR THE CITIZENS OF NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN. WHILE ITEMS ARE SOMETIMES PURCHASED FOR SPECIFIC EXHIBITIONS OR PROGRAMS, THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE MUSEUM'S HOLDINGS ARE DONATED BY PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY, ONE ITEM AT A TIME. THESE COLLECTIONS REFLECT THE EVENTS, LIFESTYLES, AND CULTURE OF OUR COMMUNITY FOR OVER 100 YEARS - - AND ARE USED TO TELL THE STORIES IN OUR EXHIBITS. THESE "REAL THINGS" BRING HISTORY, ART, AND SCIENCE ALIVE IN WAYS THAT PRINTED PAGES OR ELECTRONIC SCREENS CANNOT, AND ARE USED FOR EXHIBITS, EDUCATION, AND RESEARCH.
