PRESENT CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITIONS, EVENTS, AND PUBLICATIONS.

EXHIBITIONS AND NEW WORK PRODUCTIONS INVITES ARTISTS TO CREATE ART FOR THE ORGANIZATION TO BE DISPLAYED IN THE GALLERY. EXHIBITIONS CAN BE EITHER AN INDIVIDUAL ARTIST OR A GROUP OF ARTISTS. THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY FOUR EXHIBITIONS PER YEAR IN ADDITION TO TWO NEWLY COMMISSIONED PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS. THE FISCAL 2022 EXHIBITIONS WERE A GROUP EXHIBITION CALLED SMASHING INTO MY HEART, AS WELL AS EXHIBITIONS BY LYDIA OURAHMANE AND ALEX AYED, MERIEM BENNANI, AND DIANE SEVERIN NGUYEN.


PUBLICATIONS AND EDITIONS. PUBLICATIONS ARE BOOKS CREATED TO SUPPORT THE ARTISTS EXHIBITING. IN FISCAL 2022 THE RENAISSANCE SOCIETY PRODUCED A BOOK BY JILL MAGID. THE RENAISSANCE ALSO PRODUCES AND DISTRIBUTES EDITIONS BY CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS, AND HAS SOLD WORKS OF ART. IN FY22 THE RENAISSANCE SOCIETY PRODUCED EDITIONS BY XINYI CHENG, EBECHO MUSLIMOVA AND MERIEM BENNANI.


EDUCATIONAL EVENTS ARE INTENDED TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO STUDENTS. 26 EVENTS WERE HELD IN FISCAL 2022 THAT INCLUDED 3 ARTIST TALKS, 4 PANEL DISCUSSIONS, 5 SCREENINGS, 1 BOOK LAUNCH, 1 LECTURE, 1 VIRTUAL EDITORIAL PROJECT, 3 CONCERTS, 4 PERFORMANCES, AND 4 OPENING RECEPTIONS.
