PRESENT CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITIONS, EVENTS, AND PUBLICATIONS.

EXHIBITIONS AND NEW WORK PRODUCTIONS INVITES ARTISTS TO CREATE ART FOR THE ORGANIZATION TO BE DISPLAYED IN THE GALLERY. EXHIBITIONS CAN BE EITHER AN INDIVIDUAL ARTIST OR A GROUP OF ARTISTS. THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY FOUR EXHIBITIONS PER YEAR IN ADDITION TO TWO NEWLY COMMISSIONED PERFORMANCE PROGRAMS. THE FISCAL 2023 EXHIBITIONS WERE A GROUP EXHIBITION CALLED FEAR OF PROPERTY, AS WELL AS EXHIBITIONS BY MAX GUY, ARIA DEAN, AND SHAHRYAR NASHAT.


PUBLICATIONS AND EDITIONS. PUBLICATIONS ARE BOOKS CREATED TO SUPPORT THE ARTISTS EXHIBITING. IN FISCAL 2023 THE RENAISSANCE SOCIETY PRODUCED A BOOK BY KEVIN BEASLEY, DIANE SEVERIN NGUYEN, AND MATTHEW METZGER. THE RENAISSANCE ALSO PRODUCES AND DISTRIBUTES EDITIONS BY CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS, AND HAS SOLD WORKS OF ART. IN FY23 THE RENAISSANCE SOCIETY PRODUCED EDITIONS BY ARIA DEAN, ZGR KAR, AND DIANE SEVERIN NGUYEN.


EDUCATIONAL EVENTS ARE INTENDED TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO STUDENTS. 27 EVENTS WERE HELD IN FISCAL 2023 THAT INCLUDED 4 ARTIST TALKS, 5 PANEL DISCUSSIONS, 1 SCREENING, 3 BOOK LAUNCHES, 2 READINGS, 3 CONCERTS, 2 PERFORMANCES, 2 EXHIBITION WALK-THROUGHS, 1 STUDENT OPEN HOUSE, AND 4 OPENING RECEPTIONS.
