MPS PROVIDES PRESCHOOL CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-5 IN NINE 2.5 HOUR SESSIONS PER WEEK, ATTENDED BY 12-16 STUDENTS AT A TIME. THERE WAS ALSO A 1.5 HOUR "LUNCH-AND-PLAY" SESSION UP TO 4 DAYS PER WEEK, ATTENDED BY 5-12 STUDENTS AT A TIME. AS A PARENT-COOPERATIVE PRESCHOOL, PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO ASSIST IN THE CLASSROOM ALONG WITH 2-3 PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS. PARENTS ALSO COMPRISE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, AND ALL FAMILIES ARE ASSIGNED JOBS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR, INCLUDING BOARD MEMBERS.
