TO PROTECT THE LIVES, PROPERTY AND ENVIRONMENT OF GIRDWOOD AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES THROUGH AN ALL HAZARDS COLLECTIVE RESPONSE BY PROVIDING ADVANCED MEDICAL SERVICES, RESCUE OPERATIONS, FIRE SUPPRESSION AND EMERGENCY AID WITH COMPASSION AND COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE.

Part 3 - Line 4a
TO PROVIDE FIRE, RESCUE, AND EMS SERVICES TO THE GIRDWOOD FIRE SERVICE AREA AND THE TURNAGAIN ARM COMMUNITY. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 24 HOURS PER DAY, 7 DAYS PER WEEK.
PUBLIC EDUCATION AND FIRE PREVENTION: PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC OUTREACH THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND PROVIDE PRESENTATIONS ON FIRE PREVENTION AND LIFE SAFETY. PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL TOURS OF THE FIRE STATION TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND ALL TYPES OF GROUPS AND AGES.
EMT AND FIREFIGHTER CERTIFICATION COURSES ARE PROVIDED FOR MEMBERS AND OCCASIONALLY THESE CLASSES ARE ALSO OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
