THE MISSION OF THE GIRDWOOD HEALTH CLINIC, INC. (GHC) IS TO PROVIDE EXPANDED AND QUALITY HEALTH CARE TO THE RESIDENTS AND VISITORS OF THE TURNAGAIN ARM AREA, WITHOUT REGARD TO ABILITY TO PAY, THROUGH THE OPERATION OF A SUSTAINABLE, NON-PROFIT COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER.

MISSION:

GIRDWOOD, INC. IS ORGANIZED EXCLUSIVELY FOR EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE PURPOSES TO FACILITATE THE PUBLIC SERVICE NEEDS OF THE GIRDWOOD VALLEY AND TO PURSUE OTHER EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE PURPOSES.

TO SHARE OUR PASSION FOR ALPINE SKIING AND SKI CULTURE BY PROVIDING QUALITY AND AFFORDABLE SKI RACING AND FREESKIING PROGRAMS, BOTH COMPETITIVE AND RECREATIONAL, TO OUR MEMBER FAMILIES. TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF ATHLETES OF ALL AGES, A STRONG COMMITMENT TO QUALITY COACHING, AND THE OPPORTUNITY FOR ATHLETES TO ACHIEVE THEIR ATHLETIC AND PERSONAL GOALS. TO PRODUCE CHAMPIONS AND A LIFE-LONG LOVE OF SKIING.

GLACIER VALLEY TRANSIT OPERATES A YEAR ROUND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM WITH A FLEX ROUTE SERVICE IN GIRDWOOD, AK. GVT PROVIDES FREE AND RELIABLE TRANSIT SERVICES.

TO PROTECT THE LIVES, PROPERTY AND ENVIRONMENT OF GIRDWOOD AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES THROUGH AN ALL HAZARDS COLLECTIVE RESPONSE BY PROVIDING ADVANCED MEDICAL SERVICES, RESCUE OPERATIONS, FIRE SUPPRESSION AND EMERGENCY AID WITH COMPASSION AND COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE.

The goal of this organization is to operate organizations that provide educational programs within the formal educational system or offered as an adjunct to the traditional school curriculum which help students succeed in school and prepare for life. Includes organizations that partner parents, families, schools, business and/or community leaders to broker resources for the benefit of local schools.

TO INCREASE AVALANCHE AWARENESS IN THE TURNAGAIN AREA THROUGH ADVISORIES AND PUBLIC EDUCATION.

MISSION:

WE SUCCESSFULLY OPERATE A HIGH QUALITY EARLY LEARNING CENTER FOR CHILDREN AGES 1 YEAR TO PRE-KINDERGARTEN AGE. WE SERVE APPROXIMATELY 35 FAMILIES FROM OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AND OPERATE 5 DAYS A WEEK, 52 WEEKS A YEAR, EXCLUDING MAJOR HOLIDAYS.

MISSION:

THE KMTA CORRIDOR COMMUNITIES ASSOCIATION WAS INCORPORATED IN 2000 TO RECOGNIZE, PRESERVE, AND INTERPRET THE HISTORIC RESOURCES AND CULTURAL LANDSCAPES OF THE KENAI MOUNTAINS-TURNAGAIN ARM TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR. THE ASSOCIATION FOSTERS PLANNING AND PARTNERSHIPS AMONG THE COMMUNITIES WITHIN THE CORRIDOR, AS WELL AS AMONG INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESSES, BOROUGH, STATE, AND FEDERAL AGENCIES, TO PROMOTE THE PUBLIC ENJOYMENT OF THESE RESOURCES. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO RECEIVES AND ADMINISTERS FUNDS, APPROPRIATED BY CONGRESS AND OTHER SOURCES, TO SUPPORT COMMUNITIES IN DEVELOPING PROJECTS THAT RECOGNIZE, PRESERVE, AND INTERPRET THE KENAI MOUNTAINS-TURNAGAIN ARM'S RICH AND SCENIC HERITAGE.

GIRDWOOD NORDIC SKI CLUB IS DEDICATED TO DEVELOPING AND MAINTAINING A YEAR ROUND NORDIC TRAIL SYSTEM IN THE GIRDWOOD VALLEY AND ENCOURAGING RESPONSIBLE USE THROUGH ADVOCACY, EDUCATION AND STEWARDSHIP.

The goal of this organization are the organizations like chambers of commerce, business leagues and commercial trade associations whose members are businessmen and women and merchants who have affiliated for the purpose of promoting the general commercial interests of the community or the interests of their own trade. [Many of these are found in section 501(c)(6) business leagues; and 501(c)(6) chambers of commerce.]

The goal of this organization is to provide opportunities for people to learn and become competitive in ice hockey, ice skating, alpine and cross-country skiing, sledding/tobogganing and other winter sports. Coaching; access to skating rinks, ski slopes or other facilities; sports equipment; and officials for competitions are generally included.

The goal of this organization is to conduct research which can be used to improve the options available to physicians who have advanced training in the medical specialty which provides comprehensive medical management including preventive, diagnostic and treatment services for individuals who have diseases or injuries that affect the central, peripheral or autonomic nervous systems including the brain, cranial nerves, spinal cord, spinal nerves and other related structures.
