LOW INCIDENCE DISABILITIES SERVICE: SESA'S CORE SERVICE, FUNDED THROUGH THEALASKA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND EARLY DEVELOPMENT, IS A LOW INCIDENCEDISABILITY OUTREACH PROGRAM. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PROVIDECONSULTATION, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, AND SUPPORT, PRIMARILY TO RURAL AND REMOTESCHOOL DISTRICT PERSONNEL WHO WORK WITH STUDENTS EXPERIENCING LOW INCIDENCE(SEVERE AND OCCURRING INFREQUENTLY) DISABILITIES: VISION IMPAIRMENT, AUTISMIMPAIRMENT, HEARING IMPAIRMENT, EMOTIONAL DISTURBANCE, AND MULTIPLEDISABILITIES.
ALASKA AUTISM RESOURCE CENTER (AARC): THE ALASKA AUTISM RESOURCE CENTER(AARC) SERVES THE NEEDS OF INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS, THEIRFAMILIES, CAREGIVERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF ALASKA.
DEAF AND BLIND: THE ALASKA DEAF BLIND PROJECT IS A FEDERALLY FUNDED FIVE-YEARGRANT, PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE SERVICES TO STUDENTS WITH DEAFBLINDNESSFROM BIRTH TO TWENTY-ONE YEARS OF AGE. GRANT OUTCOMES INCLUDE PROFESSIONALDEVELOPMENT TRAINING TO EDUCATIONAL TEAMS, NETWORKING AND TRAINING FORPARENTS AND COMMUNITIES, AND LIAISON WITH THE NATIONAL CENTER FORDEAFBLINDNESS.
