THROUGH ITS SOUTHEAST SENIOR SERVICES DIVISION, CATHOLIC COMMUNITY SERVICE PROMOTES THE HEALTH, INDEPENDENCE, AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF SENIORS LIVING IN SOUTHEAST ALASKA. THE NUTRITION, TRANSPORTATION AND SUPPORT SERVICES GRANT AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH LOCAL TRIBES AND COMMUNITIES PROVIDES THE MEANS FOR THE AGENCY TO PROVIDE 1,091 SENIORS WITH OVER 131,180 HOT, NUTRITIOUS MEALS THROUGH THE NETWORK OF 12 SENIOR CENTERS. OVER 916 SENIORS AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITILIES OBTAINED 45,152 RIDES IN ORDER TO ACCESS VITAL COMMUNITY RESOURCES.
HOSPICE/HOME CARE: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES SKILLED NURSING AND THERAPY SERVICES FOR TWO TYPES OF PATIENTS IN THEIR HOME OR HOME-LIKE SETTING. THESE PATIENTS ARE EITHER HOME-BOUND OR TERMINALLY ILL. THERE ARE OVER 140 PATIENTS THAT RECEIVE THESE SERVICES EACH YEAR.
THE S.A.F.E. CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER PROVIDES CHILD ABUSE SERVICES THROUGHOUT SOUTHEAST ALASKA. THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE NEEDS OF THE CHILD FROM INITIAL INVESTIGATION THROUGH PROSECUTION WITH SUPPORT, CRISIS INTERVENTION, ASSESSMENT, PREVENTION AND HELP ACCESSING NEEDED SERVICES. A TOTAL OF 138 CHILDREN AND FAMILIES WERE SERVED IN FY21.
