LEGISLATIVE AWARENESS DAY & ADVOCACY:SPONSORED "DO DAY" IN OLYMPIA FOR THE 2021 LEGISLATIVE SESSION TO INFORM LEGISLATORS ABOUT OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE AND COLLEGES OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE AND HOW THEY ARE WORKING TO HELP MEET THE PHYSICIAN SHORTAGES IN THE STATE. OSTEOPATHIC PHYSICIANS, MEDICAL STUDENTS AND STAFF PARTICIPATED IN VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS WITH LEGISLATORS AND AIDS. THIS YEAR'S DO DAY WAS UNIQUE IN THAT IT WAS NOT ONLY VIRTUAL, BUT HELD THROUGHOUT THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION VERSUS ON ONE PARTICULAR DAY BY ARRANGING VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS.WOMA PROVIDED REPRESENTATION TO VARIOUS STATE AND FEDERAL HEALTH PROGRAM ADVISORY GROUPS, INCLUDING THE CMS CARRIER ADVISORY COMMITTEE, BREE COLLABORATIVE, L&I MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE, ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO THE HEALTH PROFESSIONAL LOAN REPAYMENT AND SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE, WASHINGTON STATE PRESCRIPTION MONITORING PROGRAM AND UNINTENTIONAL POISONING WORKGROUP AND THE HEALTHCARE AUTHORITY PHARMACY AND THERAPEUTICS COMMITTEE. WOMA ALSO PARTICIPATED IN MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE AND SURGERY CONCERNING RULES PERTAINING TO THE LICENSING AND DISCIPLINING OF OSTEOPATHIC PHYSICIANS.ANNUAL CONVENTION: IN LIUE OF THE 108TH NW OSTEOPATHIC CONVENTION WOMA OFFERED A JOINT CME PARTNERSHIP TITLED THE VOC OR VIRTUAL OSTEOPATHIC CONFERENCE. THE VIRTUAL LIVE PROGRAM DATES WERE APRIL 16-APRIL 19TH 2021, PROVIDING UP TO 48 AOA CATEGORY 1-A AND AMA PRA CREDITS. OVER FIVE HUNDRED VIRTUAL ATTENDEES PARTICIPATED IN THE LIVE VOC VIRTUALLY. THE PROGRAM WAS RECORDED FOR THOSE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND THE VIRTUAL LIVE EVENT, AND SESSIONS WERE MADE AVAILABLE LATER FOR VIEWING ON THE CE-21 PLATFORM THROUGH JUNE 15, 2021. WOMA ALSO OFFERED TWO JOINT ON-LINE CME SEMINAR PROGRAMS IN AUGUST OF 2021 FOR OVER 100 REGISTRANTS, AND THE OTHER IN NOVEMBER OF 2021 FOR 111 REGISTRANTS. COMMUNICATIONS & ASSISTANCE:UPDATES ENTITLED "NEWS YOU CAN USE" WERE PROVIDED ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS, PROVIDING INFORMATION ON CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS, STATE AGENCY INFORMATION, RULES AND REGULATIONS AFFECTING THE PRACTICE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE AND PRACTICE-RELATED TOPICS AND WERE EMAILED TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS FOR WHICH WE HAD EMAIL ADDRESSES AND POSTED THIS INFORMATION ON THE WOMA WEBSITE. FORWARDED EMAILS CONTAINING INFORMATION FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND BOARD OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE AND SURGERY TO MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS IN WASHINGTON STATE. UPDATED THE WEBSITE TO A MORE COMPREHENSIVE AND USER-FRIENDLY SITE FOR MEMBER AND NON-MEMBER PHSICIANS, STUDENTS, PATIENTS, AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.MAINTAINED A LIST OF DOS WILLING TO SHADOW/INTERVIEW PRE-MED STUDENTS.
