EDUCATION: THE WSMA IS COMMITTED TO PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND OFFERS MEMBERS 6 DIFFERENT LEADERSHIP COURSES TO ENHANCE AND BUILD LEADERSHIP SKILLS.


BETTER PRESCRIBING, BETTER TREATMENT PROGRAM: A PEER-TO-PEER CLINICIAN-DRIVEN QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM THAT PROMOTES SAFE, APPROPRIATE PRESCRIBING TO CURB OPIOID MISUSE AND OVERDOSE. THE PROGRAM GIVES PRESCRIBERS ACCESS TO INDIVIDUAL OPIOID PRESCRIBING REPORTS, EDUCATION, COACHING, AND CONSULTING ON HOW TO PUT OPIOID PRESCRIBING GUIDELINES INTO PRACTICE.


ADVOCACY: WSMA REPRESENTS ITS 12,000 PHYSICIAN MEMBERS BEFORE THE LEGISLATURE AND STATE AGENCIES, HEALTH PLANS, THE MEDIA AND GENERAL PUBLIC. THE WSMA IS ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN WORKING TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO CARE IN COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT WASHINGTON STATE.


COMMUNICATIONS: WSMA PUBLICATIONS INFORM PHYSICIANS ABOUT THE EMERGING PERFORMANCE, COST AND QUALITY MEASUREMENTS THAT ARE INTEGRAL TO HEALTH CARE. THE WSMA ALSO PROVIDES BROCHURES ON A VARIETY OF PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES TO ALL MEMBERS.
