COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS - OUR CLUB MEMBERS VOLUNTEER AT THE PGA TOUR EVENT KNOWN AS THE RBC HERITAGE, AND AT 5K RUNNING EVENTS. ALL FUNDS EARNED AS A RESULT ARE USED TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY & INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECTS. FOR EXAMPLE, PART OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS RECEIVED FROM THE TOURNAMENT ORGANIZER BENEFITTED THE FAMILY PROMISE OF BEAUFORT COUNTY, HEROES OF THE LOW COUNTRY, HILTON HEAD HIGH SCHOOL, AND HILTON HEAD HEROES.THE TOURNAMENT NET CONTRIBUTION AMOUNTED TO $7,421, AND THE RUNNING EVENTS GENERATED $1,275 IN DONATIONS TO OUR CLUB. AS A RESULT $8,696 WAS GENERATED TO SUPPORT LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECTS OF THE CLUB.ANOTHER COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT WE SUPPORTED,THE HAPPY FEET PROJECT, ENABLED OUR CLUB TO PROVIDE NEW SHOES AND SOCKS TO CHILDREN AT THE CHILDREN'S CENTER. THE SHOES AND SOCKS COST OUR CLUB $6,723, BUT WE RECEIVED A $2,500 GRANT FROM OUR ROTARY DISTRICT TO OFFSET THE COST. SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING IS ANOTHER COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT OUR MEMBERS VOLUNTEER FOR DURING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON. ALL FUNDS COLLECTED ARE REMITTED TO THE SALVATION ARMY.
OUR ROTARY CLUB ESTABLISHED A LENDING LIBRARY AT THE CHILREN'S CENTER AND STARTED WORKING ON A NEW PROJECT FOR THE BENEFIT OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN OUR AREA. BOTH EFFORTS REQUIRED A TOTAL EXPENDITURE OF $149.
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE PROJECTS - OUR CLUB SUPPORTS THE ROTARY FOUNDATION BY WAY OF PAUL HARRIS SUSTAINING MEMBER PAYMENTS AS WELL AS DIRECT DONATIONS TO ROTARY INTERNATIONAL'S POILIO ERADICATION PROGRAMS DURING THE YEAR.
OUR CLUB AND MEMBERS ALSO SUPPORT THE CART FUND FOR ALZHEIMER'S RESEARCH. ALL FUNDS COLLECTED AS REVENUE ARE REMITTED TO FUND. FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2019,$629 WAS REMITTED BY YEAR END,WITH THE BALANCE OF $1,172 BEING REMITTED ON AUGUST 1, 2019.
