THE CONSORTIUM FOR RESEARCH ON RENEWABLE INDUSTRIAL MATERIAL'S (CORRIM) MISSION SEEKS TO ESTABLISH, SUPPORT AND MANAGE RESEARCH, AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS RELATED TO THE PRODUCTION, USE, AND FINAL DISPOSAL OF WOOD PRODUCTS INCLUDING FORESTRY OPERATIONS AND LIQUID AND SOLID CELLULOSIC FUELS. CORRIM'S RESEARCH FOCUSES ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT THROUGH THE LIFE SPAN OF THESE PRODUCTS INCLUDING ENERGY USE, RESOURCE CONSUMPTIONS, AND ENVIRONMENTAL RELEASES IN THE FORM OF AIR AND WATER EMMISSIONS, AND SOLID WASTE. CORRIM'S GOALS ARE TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN WOOD PRODUCTION DATABASES THAT EVALUATE THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF WOOD PRODUCTS AND ALTERNATIVE NON-WOOD-BASED MATERIALS FROM RESOURCE EXTRACTION TO DISPOSAL. THE CONSORTIUM OF RESEARCH ON RENEWABLE INDUSTRY MATERIALS (CORRIM, WWW.CORRIM.ORG) CONDUCTS AND MANAGES RESEARCH USING LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENT (LCA) METHODOLOGIES AND REPOTING ON THE ENVIONMENTAL IMPACTS OF WOOD PRODUCTION, USE AND DISPOSAL. CORRIM IS REPRESENTED BY 25 CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS, INCLUDING A PRESIDENT, VICE PRESIDENT, DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, AND A DIRECTOR OF SCIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY. FOR OVER 20 YEARS, LEADING EXPERTS IN WOOD PRODUCTS PRODUCTION AND FORESTRY OPERATIONS REPRESENTING 20 RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS, GOVERMNENNT AGENCIES, AND ASSOCIATIONS HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN CORRIM LCA STUDIES. CORRIM HAS OVER 60 PUBLISHED LCA REPORTS REPRESENTING FOUR US WOOD PRODUCING REGIONS WHICH INCLUDES 15 DIFFERENT TYPES OF WOOD PRODUCTS. WITH WELL OVER 100 PUBLISHED REPORTS, PAPERS, AND FACT SHEETS, CORRIM IS THE "GO TO PLACE FOR WOOD LIFE CYCLE ASSESSMENTS".
