TO PROMOTE RESEARCH IN CRANBERRY GROWTH AND HARVESTING AND TO PROVIDE PUBLIC ACCESS TO CRANBERRY FARMING AND HISTORY.

THE CRANBERRY MUSEUM CONTINUES TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT CRANBERRY FARMING AND PRACTICES. DUE TO PROCEEDS FROM THE GIFT SHOP, THE MUSEUM REMAINS FREE TO THE PUBLIC. THE MUSEUM HAS BECOME A MAJOR DRAW FOR TOURISTS. THE DEMOSTRATION FARM WALKING TRAIL IS OPEN ALL YEAR WITH VISITING HOURS EXTENDED TO DUSK DAILY.SEVERAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WERE HELD FOR THE PUBLIC. MASTER GARDENERS GAVE A COUPLE OF WORKSHOPS ON LANDSCAPING AND A SPECIAL EVENT BROUGHT OVER 100 PEOPLE TO VIEW THE CRANBERRY HARVEST. A NEW AGRICULTURE RESEARCH SCIENTIST WAS HIRED BY WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY THIS FALL. SHE IS HOUSED IN A NEWLY REMODELED OFFICE BUILDING THIS IS LEASED TO THE UNIVERSIETY FOR FREE. A MARINE SCIENTIST WILL SHARE THE OFFICE SPACE. HE WAS HIRED BY THE LOCAL OYSTER GROWER INDUSTRY. COMMUNITY GROUPS USED THE FACILITIES FOR FREE OR BY OPTIONAL DONATION. PUBLIC EDUCATION CLASSES, TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES, COMMUNITY MEETINGS, AND TOURS FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN ALL RELATE TO OUR MISSION AND THE PUBLIC IS HAPPY TO HAVE THIS VENUE IN THE COMMUNITY.
