HELPING HANDS MAIN PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE FOOD FOR NEEDY FAMILIES IN SKAGIT COUNTY WE HANDED OUT OVER 3.2 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD THOUGH OUR WEEKLY DISTRIBUTION, KIDS WEEKEND PROGRAM, MOBILE FOOD AND EMERGENCY FOOD PROGRAMS.

WEEKLY FOOD DISTRIBUTION: HELPING HANDS DISTRIBUTED FOOD WITH 97,000 HOURS OF VOLUNTEERS WORK. HELPING HANDS HAS MANY HOURS OF FOOD DISTRIBUTION IN OUR GROCERY STORE MODEL FOOD BANK WHERE WE SERVED CLOSE TO 710,713 INDIVIDUALS. WE HAVE A MOBILE FOOD DELIVERY SYSTEM WHERE WE BRING FOOD TO THOSE THAT ARE HOME BOUND.
KIDS BACKPACK PROGRAM:OUR CUTTING HUNGER ON THE WEEKEND PROGRAM OR CHOW IS A PARTNERSHIP WITH SKAGIT PUBLISHING AND UNITED WAY OF SKAGIT TO DELIVER BAGS OF FOOD FOR CHILDREN IN SKAGIT COUNTY ON FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH. THEY RECEIVE 5 MEALS TO COVER THE GAP BETWEEN FRIDAY LUNCH AND MONDAY BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL. WE DELIVER 2000 BAGS OF FOOD ON FRIDAYS TO HELP THOSE CHILDREN STAY STRONG OVER THE WEEKEND AND ABLE TO LEARN ON MONDAY.
