THE MUSEUM OF NORTHWEST ART COLLECTS, PRESERVES, INTERPRETS AND EXHIBITS ART CREATED IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST, SUPPORTS ARTISTS, AND STRIVES TO INTEGRATE ART INTO THE LIVES OF ALL PEOPLE.

EXHIBITION PRODUCTION: MONA COLLECTS AND EXHIBITS CONTEMPORARY ART FROM ACROSS THE NORTHWEST, INCLUDING ALASKA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CALIFORNIA, IDAHO, MONTANA, OREGON AND WASHINGTON. THE MUSEUM IS THE STEWARD FOR OVER 2,300 OBJECTS, WHICH REPRESENT A WIDE RANGE OF MEDIUMS INCLUDING PAINTING, GLASS, PHOTOGRAPHS, PRINTS, AND MORE. MONA ALSO HOUSES A GROWING ARCHIVES AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF DIGITIZING THE OBJECTS SO THAT THE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
RETAIL STORE: THE MUSEUM OF NORTHWEST ART STORE SELLS PRODUCTS THAT INSPIRE AND REFLECT THE ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS OF THE NORTHWEST AND IGNITE PERSONAL CONNECTIONS TO ART. THE MONA STORE OFFERS CONTEMPORARY JEWELRY, ART BOOKS, HOME DECOR, AND HANDMADE OBJECTS BY MORE THAN 100 NORTHWEST ARTISTS. PROCEEDS FROM THE MONA STORE SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW EXHIBITIONS AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS: THE MUSEUM OF NORTHWEST ART ENGAGES WITH ITS SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES THROUGH A VARIETY OF EDUCATION PROGRAMS. MONA LINK PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE ART EDUCATION FOR STUDENTS FROM PRE-K TO MIDDLE SCHOOL. SINCE 2003, THE PROGRAM HAS SERVED 8,953 STUDENTS AND PROVIDED TRAINING FOR 181 TEACHERS IN THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS OF ANACORTES, BELLINGHAM, BURLINGTON-EDISON, CONCRETE, LA CONNER, MOUNT VERNON, MOUNT BAKER, SEDRO-WOOLLEY AND STANWOOD-CAMANO. MONA'S OUTREACH PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO PROMOTE THE CREATIVE EXPRESSION AND EDUCATION OF OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY THROUGH TOURS, ART-MAKING ACTIVITIES, AND TALKS OFFERED AT THE MUSEUM AND THROUGHOUT THE REGION.
