CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS - AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE IS HELD ALONG WITH WORKSHOPS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO PROVIDE INFORMATION AND SUPPORT FOR EDUCATORS INTERESTED IN PROVIDING VIABLE EDUCATIONAL OPTIONS FOR THE CHILDREN OF WASHINGTON STATE. PARTICIPANTS ATTENDED IN ORDER TO LEARN CURRENT BEST PRACTICES AND HOW TO ESTABLISH A SUCCESSFUL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM IN THEIR COMMUNITY.


STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS: RECIPIENTS ARE SELECTED BY THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE FROM AMONG APPLICANTS WHO ARE SENIORS GRADUATING FROM ALTERNATIVE HIGH SCHOOLS AND PLAN TO ENTER INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING. SCHOLARSHIP MONEYS ARE DEPOSITED WITH THE COLLEGE'S FINANCIAL OFFICE UPON REGISTRATION OF THE STUDENT. CRITERIA FOR AWARDS ARE BASED ON:1 - A COMPLETED APPLICATION; 2 - A HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT; 3 - LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION; 4 - AN AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL ESSAY. SCHOLARSHIPS VARY IN AMOUNT FROM $250 TO $1,000 BASED ON THE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEES RECOMMENDATIONS.
