CHINOOK ENTERPRISES IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE, NOT-FOR-PROFIT WHICH TYPICALLY USES PROFITS FROM ITS PRODUCTION DIVISION TO FUND THE MISSION OF COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS. THE PRODUCTION DIVISION MANUFACTURES AND ASSEMBLES MOSTLY AEROSPACE PARTS AND IS HOPING TO EXPAND INTO MORE COMMERCIAL SECTORS AND SUB-TIER AEROSPACE/SPACE INDUSTRIES. PRODUCTION CONSISTS OF 17 EMPLOYEES (INCLUDING FULL AND PART TIME). OUR TEAM IS BOTH DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT.
COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SERVICES DELIVER CHINOOK ENTERPRISES' MISSION-RELATED WORK TO THE SKAGIT VALLEY COMMUNITY AND BEYOND. SERVICES INCLUDE PREPARING STUDENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, RESEARCHING AND SECURING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES,TRAINING AND HELPING INDIVIDUALS TO MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND GROW PROFESSIONALLY. COMMUNITY INCLUSION SERVICES ARE ALSO EXTENDED TO THOSE SEEKING RETIREMENT OR VARIOUS COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS. WE TYPICALLY MAINTAIN 7-9 FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT SERVICE STAFF WHO PROVIDE 70% OR HIGHER DIRECT SERVICE HOURS TO CUSTOMERS IN A GIVEN MONTH. ANNUALLY, SERVICES ARE OFFERED TO 160-200 CUSTOMERS AND NEARLY 100 LOCAL BUSINESSES. (CONTINUED IN SCHEDULE O)THE ORGANIZATION ALSO PARTICIPATES IN LOCAL AND REGIONAL COUNCILS, SERVICE CLUBS, CHAMBERS, CONFERENCES, BOARDS AND IN EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS.
CHINOOK OPERATES A LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DIVISION WHICH HAS A DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE TEAM OF 16 FULL/PART TIME STAFF MEMBERS. ANY PROFITS FROM THIS DIVISION ARE ALSO USED TO FUND THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION. THE GROUNDS TEAM SUPPORTS MULTIPLE MEMBERS WITH SIGNIFICANT DISABILITIES. THERE IS A HIGH DEMAND FOR GROUNDS MAINTENANCE WORK IN SKAGIT COUNTY WHICH INVOLVES MOWING, TRIMMING, EDGING, LEAF BLOWING, REPLANTING AND WEED CONTROL.
