THE WVMA EDUCATIONAL FUND INC., (WVMAEF), IS COMMITTED TO THE CONTINUED GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF MANUFACTURING EDUCATION IN WEST VIRGINIA. SUCCESSFUL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT IS CRITICAL TO REALIZING MANUFACTURING'S POTENTIAL IN THE MOUNTAIN STATE IN THE YEARS AHEAD. THE WVMAEF EDUCATIONAL FUND INC. AND ITS PARTNERS ARE WORKING TO ASSURE THE AVAILABILITY OF SKILLED WORKERS TO MEET NOT ONLY CURRENT BUT ALSO THE PROJECTED NEEDS OF THE EXISTING JOBS THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY WILL PRODUCE IN THE YEARS TO COME. FROM JANUARY THROUGHT JUNE, THE WVMAEF HELD SEVEN ACADEMIES AND SIX WORKSHOPS FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS, AS WELL AS COMPLETED NINETEEN, WHAT'S SO COOL ABOUT MANUFACTURING STUDENT VIDEO CONTEST TEAMS. ADDITIONALLY, THE WVMAEF COORDINATED EFFORTS FOR TWELVE MANUFACTURING INNOVATION CHALLENGE AND THREE SCRAP PROJECTS. IN THE SPRING, FOUR REGIONAL AWARDS CEREMONIES WERE HELD FOR PARTICIPATING STUDENTS, THEIR PARENTS, EDUCATORS, AND MANUFACTURERS, FOLLOWED BY A STATEWIDE VIRTUAL AWARDS CEREMONY. THREE STUDENT AND FIVE EDUCATORS WERE RECOGNIZED AS EMERGING ELITE IN MANUFACTURING AND OUTSTANDING INDUSTRY EDUCATOR AND AWARDED $500.00. LASTLY, THE WVMAEF HOSTED ITS THIRD EDUCATORS' ROUNDTABLE IN JUNE FOR A PANEL OF PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS.
