PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS - IN NOVEMBER 2012 THE ORGANIZATION SUCCESSFULLY LAUNCHED ITS FIRST SEASON OF THE EMERGENCY WINTER PROGRAM AND SERVED MORE THAN 50 HOMELESS GUESTS DURING 12 SHELTER WEEKS. SINCE THEN THE NUMBER OF SHELTER GUESTS HAS GROWN TO MORE THAN 100, AND COFM HAS ANNUALLY OFFERED 18 WEEKS OF FOOD, SHELTER, AND OTHER RESOURCES, INCLUDING REFERRALS FOR MEDICAL CARE, RAPID RE-HOUSING, AND OTHER SOCIAL SERVICES. COFM CONTINUES TO BE THE AREA'S ONLY EMERGENCY WINTER SHELTER FOR HOMELESS MEN, WOMEN, AND FAMILIES, AND HAS GROWN TO A COLLABORATION OF MORE THAN 30 FAITH CONGREGATIONS, 12 COMMUNITY PARTNERS, AND THOUSANDS OF VOLUNTEERS. COFM MET ITS STRATEGIC PLAN FOR YEAR 5 OF THE PROGRAM AND MOVED FROM ALL-VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT TO HIRING TWO PART TIME SHELTER MANAGERS TO FACILITATE OPERATIONS AT HOST SITES THROUGHOUT GREATER WILLIAMSBURG, AND FOR YEAR 5 BY HIRING AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO RUN THE SHELTER PROGRAM.
