CORE FITNESS AND YOGA CLASSES. CORE FITNESS AND YOGA CLASSES ARE HELD IN THE COMMUNITY CENTER MONDAYS THROUGH THURSDAYS. WHEN SHELTER IN PLACE WAS ORDERED IN MARCH, 2020, THE CLASSES WERE SHIFTED TO VIRTUAL, ZOOM EVENTS, MONDAYS THROUGH THURSDAYS. THE WELL RECEIVED CLASSES FOCUSED ON EXERCISES WHILE SITTING IN A CHAIR. THE CLASSES ARE FREE TO VILLAGE MEMBERS. NON-VILLAGE ATTENDEES MUST PAY A $10 FEE TO THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY.
PERSONAL FOOD DISTRIBUTION & PPE. THE CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC BROUGHT LIVE EVENTS TO A CLOSE. THIS SITUATION FURTHER INCREASED ISOLATION AND LONELINESS OF OUR MEMBERS. IN THE SUMMER WITH FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE CITY OF FOSTER CITY AND THE FOSTER CITY ROTARY CLUB, THE VILLAGE INITIATED MEAL DELIVERIES TO OUR MEMBERS ON A WEEKLY BASIS. THE PROGRAM NOT ONLY BENEFITED OUR WITH A GOOD MEAL BUT SUPPORTED OUR LOCAL RESTAURANTS WITH INCOME THEY WOULD NOT OTHERWISE HAVE. WE ALSO DISTRIBUTED PPE ITEMS SUCH AS FACE MASKS AND BOTTLES OF HAND SANITIZER. THESE ACTIVITIES ALLOWED OUR VOLUNTEERS TO MAKE ONE-ON-ONE CONTACT WITH OUR MEMBERS TO INSURE THAT THEY WERE SAFE AND HEALTHY.
