PHEASANTS FOREVER'S MISSION IS TO CONSERVE PHEASANTS, QUAIL, AND OTHER WILDLIFE THROUGH HABITAT IMPROVEMENTS, PUBLIC ACCESS, EDUCATION, AND CONSERVATION ADVOCACY.

HABITAT PROJECTS CONSIST OF ESTABLISHING NESTING COVER FOR PHEASANTS AND OTHER UPLAND BIRDS BY PLANTING NATIVE PRAIRIE GRASS, PROVIDE WINTER SHELTER FOR PHEASANTS AND OTHER WILDLIFE, AND PURCHASING SPECIALIZED HABITAT EQUIPMENT FOR USE BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND LANDOWNERS FOR CONDUCTING WILDLIFE HABITAT PROJECTS. TO DATE, OVER 8,600 PROJECTS COVERING MORE THAN 74,000 ACRES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WITH OVER 217,900 TREES AND SHRUBS PLANTED.
PUBLIC AWARENESS AND YOUTH EDUCATION ACTIVITIES CONSIST OF CONDUCTING YOUTH MENTOR HUNTS IN ORDER TO GET YOUNG PEOPLE EXPOSED TO THE OUTDOORS AND THE TRADITION OF ETHICAL HUNTING, HOLDING TARGET SHOOTING EVENTS TO TEACH PROPER HANDLING OF FIREARMS AND TO EXPOSE YOUTH TO SHOOTING SPORTS. YOUTH ARE HOSTED AT OUTDOOR CAMPS AND OTHER EVENTS ARE HELD SUCH AS FIELD DAYS AND YOUTH HABITAT DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS.
