SUPPORT CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH PEDIATRIC CANCER (AND THEIR FAMILIES) BY PROVIDING AN EXPERIENCE TO ATTEND A HOCKEY GAME AND ENGAGE IN A FAMILY OUTING "AWAY" FROM CANCER. 11 FAMILIES PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST YEAR OF OPERATION (FALL 2022) INCLUDED SHARING THEIR CANCER STORY WITH FANS AT GAMES AND VIA SOCIAL MEDIA TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF PEDIATRIC CANCER. IN 2023, 17 PEDIATRIC CANCER PATIENTS ATTENDED GAMES, AND THE MINI STICKS CO DEVOTED THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER TO SHARING ABOUT PEDIATRIC CANCER ON ITS SOCIAL MEDIA PAGES. WE WERE ABLE TO USE HOCKEY AS A PLATFORM TO SHARE MORE ABOUT CHILDHOOD CANCER, FEATURED IN TWO NATIONAL HOCKEY JOURNALS AND DONATE OVER $1000 OF FUNDS RAISED TO ST. JUDES CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL, NEBRASKA CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL ONCOLOGY, AND ANGELS AMONG US (A SUPPORT ORGANIZATION FOR CHILDREN DIAGNOSED WITH PEDIATRIC CANCER IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA).
