Part 3 - Line 4a

BLACK VISIONS IS A BLACK LIBERATION ORGANIZATION WHOSE WORK, EVENTS, AND PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN FOUND TO CREATE PUBLIC BENEFITS UNDER INTERNAL REVENUE CODE 501(C)(3), INCLUDING RELIEF OF THE BLACK POOR, DISTRESSED AND UNDERPRIVILEGED, ELIMINATION OF ANTI-BLACK PREJUDICE AND DISCRIMINATION, LESSENING NEIGHBORHOOD TENSIONS IN BLACK COMMUNITIES, AS WELL AS COMBATING COMMUNITY DETERIORATION AND JUVENILE DELINQUENCY. FOR EXAMPLE, IN FISCAL YEAR 2022, BLACK VISIONS STAFF ORGANIZED A BACK-2-SCHOOL DRIVE THAT PROVIDED OVER 100 UNDERPRIVILEGED FAMILIES IN MINNESOTA WITH NUTRITIOUS FOOD AND SCHOOL SUPPLIES AHEAD OF THAT UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR. OUR STAFF EMPOWERED THOSE SAME NEEDY FAMILIES WITH IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND RESOURCES RELATED TO THEIR CIVIL RIGHTS AND CIVIL LIBERTIES. OUR STAFF PERFORMED SIMILAR COMMUNITY ORGANIZING AND EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH WORK AT VARIOUS OTHER BLACK CULTURAL EVENTS IN MINNESOTA THAT YEAR INCLUDING JUNETEENTH, LGBTQ+ PRIDE MONTH, TRANSGENDER DAY OF VISIBILITY, AND TRANSGENDER DAY OF REMEMBRANCE.ALSO, IN FISCAL YEAR 2022, BLACK VISIONS STAFF ORGANIZED A WEEKLONG SUMMER CAMP CALLED ABOLITION SCHOOL WHEREIN BLACK YOUTH AND ADULT ACTIVISTS FROM VARIOUS PARTS OF MINNESOTA WERE BROUGHT TOGETHER FOR SEVERAL DAYS OF IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS, TRAININGS, AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOCUSED ACTIVITIES. SEVERAL PARTICIPANTS NEVER COULD HAVE AFFORDED THE TYPE OF LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED TO THEM BY BLACK VISIONS, ESPECIALLY IN THE AREAS OF CHILDCARE, FAMILY CARE, AND ACCOMMODATIONS FOR BLACK PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.
