TO EDUCATE AND DRIVE AWARENESS OF AEROBIC COMPOSTING AS A SOLUTION TO THE POLLUTION AND EJ IMPACTS OF INCINERATING FOOD WASTE, AND TO INITIATE AND OPERATE AN AEROBIC, COMMERCIAL SCALE FOOD WASTE COMPOSTING OPERATION TO SERVE THE BRIDGEPORT CT REGION.

EDUCATION AND AWARENESS PROGRAMMING - ACTIVE AWARENESS AND MARKETING PROGRAMMING ON AEROBIC COMPOSTING BENEFITS AND PROCESSES - CONTINUOUS COMMUNICATION VIA EMAIL, SOCIAL MEDIA, GOVERNMENT OUTREACH AND ATTENDANCE (TABLING) AT FARMERS MARKETS, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EVENTS. VIDEO DEVELOPMENT AND DISTRIBUTION OF ADVANTAGES AND PROCESSES OF AEROBIC COMPOSTING FOR YOUTUBE AWARENESS AND PUBLIC OUTREACH. ORGANIZED AND CONDUCTED WORKSHOPS TO DEMONSTRATE COMPOSTING AND EXPLAIN ITS BENEFITS AND LACK OF NOXIOUS IMPACTS ONCE MIXED. WORKSHOPS WITH OPEN INVITATION, SCHOOLS, NEIGHBORHOOD YOUTH GROUPS, GARDEN AND ENVIRONMENTAL CLUBS FOR LOCAL AND UNIVERSITY MEMBERS. IN COLLABORATION WITH SCHOOLS CONDUCTED HANDS-ON CLASSROOM TEACHING AT SCHOOLS AND LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS OF AEROBIC COMPOSTING PROCESSES AND BENEFITS. (ONE SCHOOL = A FULL YEAR 1 DAY A WEEK SCIENCE CLASS FOR GRADE 8)


COMPOSTING OPERATION: VOLUNTEER COLLECTION OF FOOD SCRAPS FROM BRIDGEPORT NEIGHBORHOODS AND SELECTED COMMERCIAL AND NON PROFIT OPERATIONS DIVERTING OVER 12.4 TONS OF FOOD SCRAPS IN 2022 BY COMPOSTING OF FOOD SCRAPS AT OUR PILOT COMMUNITY COMPOST OPERATION. DISTRIBUTION OF FINISHED COMPOST SOIL AMENDMENT THROUGH SALES, DONATION AND RETURN TO COLLECTION PARTICIPANTS. CONDUCTED EXTENSIVE LARGER SITE DEVELOPMENT AND PERMITTING PROCESS AND APPROVALS WHICH HAD TO BE ABANDONED DUE TO SIGNIFICANT PCB PRESENCE AT THE SITE, EXCEEDING EPA LIMITS FOR SITE USE OR PRESENCE. WORKING ACTIVELY WITH THE CITY OF BRIDGEPORT ON ADDITIONAL SITES FOR LARGER IMPACT.
