THE SUN VALLEY POLICY FORUM, FOUNDED IN MARCH OF 2022, IS AN ORGANIZATION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO EDUCATE OUR CITIZENRY ON LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL ISSUES TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO DISCUSS PUBLIC POLICY, AND TO ENCOURAGE DYNAMIC PARTICIPATION IN OUR REPUBLIC. AS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION SUN VALLEY POLICY FORUM SERVES TO EDUCATE AND GROW CITIZEN AWARENESS OF POLICY LEADERS WHO ARE FURTHERING FREE-MARKET IDEAS AND SERVING ON THE FRONT LINES TO ADVANCE AMERICA'S FOUNDING IDEALS AND INSTITUTIONS. IN DOING SO, WE WILL INSPIRE CITIZENS WITH THE KNOWLEDGE AND LANGUAGE TO CARRY THE MESSAGE INTO OUR COMMUNITIES THROUGH CIVIC ENGAGEMENT SO THAT TOGETHER WE PRESERVE INDIVIDUAL LIBERTIES AND KEEP OUR NATION STRONG. THE SUN VALLEY POLICY FORUM IN ITS SECOND YEAR OF OPERATIONS HOSTED TWO COMMUNITY EDUCATIONAL EVENTS IN 2023. THE FIRST EVENT HOSTED A SPEAKER WHO IMPARTED KNOWLEDGE ON AMERICA'S NATIONAL SECURITY STRATEGY AND COMPARISONS OF DIFFERENT PRESIDENTIAL ADMINISTRATIONS. THE FORUM EDUCATED ON HOW PHILANTHROPY SUPPORTS CITIZEN PARTICIPATION AND PUBLIC POLICY IN AMERICA EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING AND HOW TO ENSURE LOCAL COMMUNITY PROGRAMS EMBRACE A STRONG AND VIBRANT CIVIL SOCIETY. THE FORUM ALSO INCLUDED AWARENESS FOR HOW YOUNGER GENERATIONS RECEIVE INFORMATION THROUGH SOCIAL MEDIA AND HOW COMMUNICATION STRATEGIES USING FILM AND DOCUMENTARIES CAN HIGHLIGHT KEY ISSUES REGARDING THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLES OF OUR COUNTRY, AND OTHER ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL ISSUES. 350 PEOPLE WERE IN ATTENDANCE. THE SECOND EVENT IN THE FALL WAS ALSO FOCUSED ON NATIONAL SECURITY RELATED ISSUES, REGARDING THREATS TO DOMESTIC SECURITY AND CONCERNS THAT CURTAIL FREEDOM OF SPEECH ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES. AUDIENCES WERE INFORMED THAT AMERICANS CAN RESIDE AS NEIGHBORS REGARDLESS OF RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES, AND HOW TO ENSURE THAT ALL AMERICANS CAN ABIDE BY THE CORE VALUES OF THE CONSTITUTION. 300 PEOPLE WERE IN ATTENDANCE. THROUGH THESE EVENTS, SUN VALLEY POLICY FORUM EDUCATED ITS PARTICIPANTS ON THE ROLE PHILANTHROPY CAN PLAY IN SUPPORTING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND TRANSFORMING LOCAL PROGRAMMING FOR A STRONGER FREER CITIZENRY. FURTHER THE SUN VALLEY POLICY FORUM EDUCATED ITS PARTICIPANTS ON HOW NATIONAL NONPROFITS ARE WORKING TO EDUCATE YOUNG ADULTS TO BE BETTER PREPARED FOR CAREERS IN PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY SERVICE.
