TRAINING: ARTISTS IN MOTION AIM IS DEEPLY COMMITTED TO ITS MISSION REFLECTED IN THE IMPACTFUL TRAINING PROGRAMS OFFERED THROUGH ALCHEMY BALLET ACADEMY AND ALCHEMY BALLET COMPANY. DURING THE REPORTING PERIOD AIM INVESTED IN CREATING AN ENRICHING STUDIO ENVIRONMENT ENHANCING THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND SECURING TOP-TIER FACULTY INCLUDING MARIANNA ROZANOVA AND RAMÓN SÁNCHEZ. OUR ACADEMY STUDENTS RECEIVING THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF VAGANOVA METHOD BALLET TRAINING IN THE REGION ARE WELL-PREPARED FOR PROFESSIONAL BALLET COMPANY CONTRACTS. NOTABLY AIM'S DEDICATION EXTENDS TO PROVIDING CRITICAL SUPPORT TO INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS ADDRESSING IMMIGRATION CHALLENGES THROUGH VISA WORK SPONSOR-PARTNERSHIPS AND FUNDRAISING. THESE INITIATIVES ALIGN WITH AIM'S GOAL OF NURTURING DIVERSE TALENTS AND PROMOTING CAREER SUPPORT FOR EMERGING ARTISTS.
PERFORMANCE: AIM'S ORGANIZATIONAL SUCCESS IS VIVIDLY DEMONSTRATED THROUGH OUR GROUNDBREAKING PERFORMANCE EVENTS WITH THE "NUTCRACKER REIMAGINED" BEING A STANDOUT EXAMPLE. IN ADDITION TO SHOWCASING TRADITIONAL BALLET THIS PERFORMANCE SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATED DIVERSE DANCE AND MUSIC TRADITIONS INCLUDING PERCUSSIVE DANCERS HIP HOP TRADITIONAL MORRIS SWORD DANCE AND BLUEGRASS MUSICIANS. IN THE REPORTING PERIOD AIM ACTIVELY PURSUED PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES ENGAGING WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS SENIOR CENTERS AND COLLABORATING WITH NONPROFITS. THE ALCHEMY ARTISTS IN MOTION SPRING PERFORMANCES DEDICATED TO ALS AWARENESS CELEBRATED THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF OUR DANCERS AND HONORED THE LEGACIES OF ROBERTA FLACK AND CHARLES MINGUS. THESE PERFORMANCES COUPLED WITH OUR CONTINUED AWARD-WINNING PARTICIPATION IN THE YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX AND OTHER PRESTIGIOUS BALLET COMPETITIONS EXEMPLIFY AIM'S COMMITMENT TO ARTISTIC EXCELLENCE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND IMPACTFUL STORYTELLING THROUGH THE ART OF DANCE.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH: AIM SET OUT TO ESTABLISH PROGRAMS THAT WOULD UNITE STUDENTS TEACHERS PARENTS LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROFESSIONAL AND EMERGING ARTISTS AND NEIGHBORING COMMUNITIES AND AUDIENCES. THIS GOAL IS ACHIEVED IN MYRIAD WAYS VIA CLASSES WORKSHOPS AND MASTERCLASSES FEATURING LOCAL ARTIST-TEACHERS PURVEYING MORE THAN A DOZEN DIFFERENT DANCE TRADITIONS AND STYLES FROM AFRICA CUBA CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA. AIM'S COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVES ARE AT THE FOREFRONT OF OUR MISSION FOSTERING INCLUSIVITY AND CULTURAL APPRECIATION WITHIN FAIRFAX COUNTY VA. IN THE REPORTING PERIOD AIM ACTIVELY COLLABORATED WITH COMPASS HOMESCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM URBAN ARTISTRY AND OTHER PARTNERS TO ESTABLISH MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS IN ALIGNMENT WITH AIM'S OVERARCHING GOAL OF CREATING A VIBRANT AND INCLUSIVE ARTS COMMUNITY. OUR COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS AND MASTER CLASSES FEATURE AN ARRAY OF DANCE TRADITIONS RESPOND DIRECTLY TO COMMUNITY NEEDS AND INTERESTS AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR MULTI-GENERATIONAL PARTICIPATION. IN PURSUIT OF OUR MISSION WE EXPANDED OUR REACH AND DEEPENED OUR IMPACT THROUGH PERFORMANCES IN AREA SCHOOLS SENIOR CENTERS AND OTHER COMMUNITY VENUES. ANOTHER IMPORTANT GOAL IS TO SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS AND TEACH THEM HOW TO SPOT AND NAVIGATE PREDATORY EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES. WORK TO ADVANCE THIS GOAL INCLUDED HELPING A GIFTED ARTIST WHO WAS MISLED BY A LOCAL ARTS ORGANIZATION SECURE AN O1 VISA AND SUPPORTING AN EXCEPTIONAL EMERGING ARTIST WHOSE CAREER LAUNCH WAS DERAILED BY THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC.
