SUSU COMMUNITY FARM IS AN AFROINDIGENOUS STEWARDED FARM IN SOUTHERN VERMONT. WE OFFER LIFE AFFIRMING SPACES FOR BLACK, INDIGENOUS, PEOPLE OF COLOR TO THRIVE, INCLUDING THROUGH THE DONATION OF FOOD AND OFFERING OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING.

SEE SCHEDULE OBOX OF RESILIENCE CSA - SUSU PROVIDES A NO-COST BOX OF AFRICAN DIASPORIC AND CULTURALLY RELEVANT FOODS, HERBAL MEDICINALS, EGGS, FLOWERS, AND OTHER ITEMS EACH WEEK FOR 20 WEEKS FROM JUNE TO OCTOBER TO 50+ FAMILIES OF THE GLOBAL MAJORITY IN WINDHAM COUNTY, VERMONT, REGARDLESS OF SOCIAL OR ECONOMIC STATUS. IN 2022, WE SERVED 172 PEOPLE WEEKLY AND DISTRIBUTED A TOTAL OF 1,330 BOXES OF FOOD.


TRAUMA CONSCIOUS SCHOOL OF LIBERATION, WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES


SEE SCHEDULE OYOUTH TO LIBERATION PIPELINE - PROVIDE SPACE FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH WHERE THEIR VISIONS AND DREAMS FOR THE FUTURE ARE RESPECTED, AND WHERE THEY CAN PAVE THE WAY FOR THE GENERATIONS TO COME. THROUGH A PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH BASED PROCESS, THE YOUTH TO LIBERATION PIPELINE PROGRAM COLLABORATES WITH YOUTH (AGES 12-22) IN OUR COMMUNITY AND CENTERS THEIR VOICES, VISIONS, AND DREAMS FOR A LIBERATED FUTURE. IN 2022, WE OFFERED ON-FARM PROGRAMMING FOR OVER 130 LOCAL KIDS AND TEENS, AS WELL AS THOSE FROM THE NORTHEAST REGION. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM, WE ALSO OFFER MONTHLY POP-UP ADVENTURE PLAYGROUNDS WHERE CHILDRENS' FREEDOM IS A TOP PRIORITY. THESE DESCONSTRUCTED, TEMPORARY PLAY SPACES INSPIRE INNOVATION, IMAGINATION AND INVITE KIDS TO EXPLORE CALCULATED RISKS IN A SAFER SETTING. THESE INTENTIONALLY HELD, LOW-INTERVENTION SPACES ARE BEST SUITED FOR KIDS BETWEEN THE AGES OF 2 AND 12. NEARLY 100 YOUNG CHILDREN JOINED US FOR POP-UP ADVENTURE PLAY IN 2022


SEE SCHEDULE OTRAUMA CONSCIOUS SCHOOL OF LIBERATION - SUSU OFFERS A VARIETY OF INTERACTIVE AND EMBODIED WORKSHOPS AND PROGRAMS TO CONNECT PEOPLE BACK TO THE INHERENT WISDOM HELD DEEP WITHIN THEIR BONES AND ANCESTRAL MEMORY. THESE OFFERINGS PROVIDE A STONG MYCELIAL ROOT SYSTEM TO OUR BODIES TO SUPPORT US IN BUILDING HEALTHY, THRIVING, AND LIBERATED COMMUNITIES. SOME OF THE HEALING MODALITIES OFFERED INCLUDE: YOGA, MEDITATION, SOUND HEALING, SOMATICS, HERBAL EDUCATION, ANTI-RACISM EDUCATION, SPIRITUAL PRACTICE AND CEREMONY, ART AND PERFORMANCE. IN 2022, THE TRAUMA CONSCIOUS SCHOOL WAS ABLE TO SERVE 280 ADULTS THROUGH OUR SEASONAL PROGRAMMING.
