UNITED NEIGHBORS/VECINOS UNIDOS (UN/VU) WAS FORMED IN 2021 TO SUPPORT NUEVA VIDA (FORMALLY PARKLANE) MOBILE PARK RESIDENTS TO PURCHASE THE PARK, MAINTAIN ITS AFFORDABILITY, AND ESTABLISH A RESIDENT OWNERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE MODEL. NUEVA VIDA, LOCATED AT 411 S. COURT STREET IN FORT COLLINS, IS HOME TO OVER 300 RESIDENTS REPRESENTING 68 HOUSEHOLDS (200 ADULTS AND 100 CHILDREN), WITH A POPULATION THAT IS 90% SPANISH-SPEAKING.

UNITED NEIGHBORS/VECINOS UNIDOS (UN/VU) WAS FORMED IN 2021 TO SUPPORT NUEVA VIDA (FORMERLY PARKLANE) MOBILE HOME PARK RESIDENTS TO PURCHASE THE PARK, MAINTAIN ITS AFFORDABILITY, AND ESTABLISH A RESIDENT OWNERSHIP AND GOVERNANCE MODEL. NUEVA VIDA BECAME ONLY THE SIXTH MOBILE HOME PARK IN THE STATE TO MOVE TO RESIDENT GOVERNANCE/OWNERSHIP AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. THIS WAS THE RESULT OF A RIGOROUS COMMUNITY ORGANIZING EFFORT LED BY AND FOR RESIDENTS. THE ROLE OF THE UN/VU BOARD OF DIRECTORS IS TO SUPPORT WHAT THE RESIDENTS OF NUEVA VIDA WANT TO ACHIEVE FOR THEIR COMMUNITY, NOW AND IN THE FUTURE. CURRENTLY, UN/VU IS FOCUSING ITS EFFORTS ON INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AND COMMUNITY GOVERNANCE.
