IN 2023, WCK WAS ABLE TO DONATE: $1000 TO HO'OMALU KE KAI, $750 TO REEF GUARDIANS, $175 TO MAUI STRONG, $2000 TO HUI MAKA'AINANA O MAKANA, $100 TO KILAUEA BANGAHS YOUTH BASEBALL PROGRAM, $250 KEIKI CHRISTMAS SURFBOARD GIVEAWAY, AND $2000 TO MALAMA HULEIA. UNLESS SPECIFICALLY STATED OTHERWISE, 100% OF DONATIONS COLLECTED BY WCK ARE GIVEN TO OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS. IN 2023, MEMBERS OF WCK WERE ABLE TO PERSONALLY SPEAK WITH HUNDREDS OF VISITORS TO KAUAI AND SHARE INFORMATION ABOUT THE ISSUES THE ISLAND IS CURRENTLY FACING AND OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS AND HOW THEY ARE WORKING TO ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS. ON AVERAGE, BETWEEN 50-100 PEOPLE VISITED OUR STATION AT LOCAL MARKETS AND CRAFT FAIRS. THROUGH INSTAGRAM AND FACEBOOK, WE REACHED HUNDREDS OF FOLLOWERS AND SHARED AN ABUNDANCE OF INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL AND EVENTS WHICH TOOK PLACE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. TO REFLECT ON OUR SUCCESS IN REACHING OUR ONLINE AUDIENCE, WE HAVE REVIEWED COMMENTS SHARED IN VARIOUS POSTS, EXAMINED ANALYTIC DATA COMPILED THROUGH OUR SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS, THE WEBSITE AND GOOGLE SEARCH DATA, AS WELL AS MEASURING GROWTH FROM STARTING WITH 81 FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM AT THE START OF 2022 AND ENDING WITH JUST UNDER 1000 AT THE END OF 2023. IN 2023, WE CARE KAUAI INCREASED RESIDENTS' AWARENESS OF WCK BY 100%. ADDITIONALLY, THE PROGRAM CHANGED VISITOR BEHAVIOR AND ATTITUDES BY INSPIRING THEM TO SUPPORT WCK AND ITS MISSION THROUGH ACTS OF SERVICE ON THE ISLAND AND CONTRIBUTING DONATIONS. WCK OFFERED A PLATFORM THAT SHARED COMMUNITY EVENTS AND INFORMATION WITH RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ALIKE AND BROUGHT PEOPLE TOGETHER WITH THE COMMON GOAL OF PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT OF KAUAI. THE WEBSITE AND SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS ALSO PROVIDE RECOGNITION FOR VISITORS WHO JOIN THE WCK OHANA AND SHOW A WILLINGNESS TO THE COMMUNITY TO OFFER HELP AND SUPPORT TO CARE FOR THE ISLAND. OVERALL, THE PROGRAM WILL EMPOWER AND INSPIRE THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY OF KAUAI WITH INCREASED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES FACING THE ISLAND AND THE ABILITY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE SOLUTIONS.
