Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
OUR 2023 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM TRAINED 12 INTERNS, WHO ALL TRANSITIONED INTO FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT. THE PROGRAM PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING, HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE, MENTORING, AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. WE AIM TO EXPAND THE PROGRAM TO FOSTER A SKILLED CONSTRUCTION WORKFORCE.OUR HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM WAS A RESOUNDING SUCCESS, SERVING A TOTAL OF 18 STUDENTS FROM KANUIKAPONO PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL. THESE STUDENTS CAME FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND SOCIOECONOMIC LEVELS, BUT THEY ALL SHARED A COMMON GOAL: TO MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN THEIR COMMUNITY.WE ARE PROUD TO SAY THAT OUR PROGRAM NOT ONLY PROVIDED ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO THESE STUDENTS BUT ALSO INSTILLED IN THEM A STRONG SENSE OF CIVIC RESPONSIBILITY AND A COMMITMENT TO SERVICE. THROUGH OUR PROGRAM, THEY LEARNED THE IMPORTANCE OF GIVING BACK TO THEIR COMMUNITY AND MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE LIVES OF OTHERS.IN ADDITION TO THE DIRECT SERVICES WE PROVIDED TO THE STUDENTS, WE ALSO DEDICATED OURSELVES TO SERVING THE BROADER NATIVE HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY. WE LOGGED OVER 50 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS, WORKING WITH VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO MAKE A TANGIBLE DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF NATIVE HAWAIIANS.ONE OF OUR KEY AREAS OF FOCUS WAS COMMUNITY CLEANUPS. WE ORGANIZED AND PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL CLEANUP EVENTS, REMOVING TRASH AND DEBRIS FROM BEACHES, PARKS, AND OTHER PUBLIC SPACES. WE ALSO PARTNERED WITH LOCAL FOOD BANKS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO DELIVER FOOD AND ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES TO FAMILIES IN NEED.FURTHERMORE, WE COLLABORATED WITH NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS AINA ALLIANCE, DEPARTMENT OF HAWAIIAN HOMELANDS (DHHL), KANUIKAPONO PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL, KUKULU KUMUHANA O ANAHOLA, HAWAII COMMUNITY LENDING, HAWAII COMMUNITY ASSETS, AND KEKULA NIIHAU PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL TO PROVIDE NO-COST RENOVATIONS FOR DHHL BENEFICIARY KUPUNA. WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY KUPUNA DESERVES TO LIVE IN A SAFE, COMFORTABLE, AND WELL-MAINTAINED HOME, AND WE WERE HONORED TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE THIS SERVICE TO THEM.OUR HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM WAS A TESTAMENT TO THE POWER OF COLLABORATION AND THE TRANSFORMATIVE IMPACT THAT YOUNG PEOPLE CAN HAVE WHEN THEY ARE EMPOWERED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE SERVED THE KANUIKAPONO PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL COMMUNITY AND THE BROADER NATIVE HAWAIIAN COMMUNITY, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUING OUR WORK IN THE YEARS TO COME.IN 2023, OUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE WAS TO PROPEL THE GROWTH OF OUR PROGRAM AND BOLSTER THE WORKFORCE ON KAUAI. THIS STRATEGIC ENDEAVOR ALIGNS WITH OUR LONG-TERM VISION OF ESTABLISHING A CONSTRUCTION-FOCUSED HIGH SCHOOL WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY. BY FOSTERING A ROBUST CONSTRUCTION EDUCATION PROGRAM, WE AIM TO EQUIP OUR STUDENTS WITH THE NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE TO EXCEL IN THIS VITAL INDUSTRY. THIS INITIATIVE NOT ONLY ADDRESSES THE IMMEDIATE NEEDS OF OUR LOCAL WORKFORCE BUT ALSO LAYS THE GROUNDWORK FOR A SUSTAINABLE AND PROSPEROUS FUTURE FOR KAUAI. OUR UNWAVERING COMMITMENT TO THIS GOAL ENSURES THAT OUR STUDENTS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO HANDS-ON TRAINING, INDUSTRY-STANDARD EQUIPMENT, AND MENTORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FROM EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONALS. THROUGH THIS HIGH SCHOOL, WE ASPIRE TO SHAPE THE NEXT GENERATION OF CONSTRUCTION LEADERS AND INNOVATORS, ENSURING THAT KAUAI'S CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY REMAINS COMPETITIVE AND THRIVING FOR YEARS TO COME.IN 2023, OUR ORGANIZATION UNDERTOOK A SIGNIFICANT INITIATIVE TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS SEEKING CAREER TRANSITIONS. THROUGH A CAREFULLY-DESIGNED PROGRAM, WE INVESTED IN THE TRAINING AND EQUIPPING OF 12 TALENTED INDIVIDUALS. EACH INTERN RECEIVED COMPREHENSIVE SUPPORT, INCLUDING MENTORSHIP, SKILL DEVELOPMENT, AND ACCESS TO CUTTING-EDGE RESOURCES.THE SUCCESS OF OUR PROGRAM IS REFLECTED IN THE REMARKABLE 100% CAREER TRANSITION RATE ACHIEVED BY OUR INTERNS. THIS OUTCOME IS A TESTAMENT TO THE DEDICATION OF OUR TEAM AND THE RESILIENCE OF THE INDIVIDUALS WE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF WORKING WITH.THE COST OF EQUIPPING AND TRAINING EACH INTERN EXCEEDED $25,000. THIS INVESTMENT MAY SEEM SUBSTANTIAL, BUT IT PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE LONG-TERM BENEFITS IT WILL YIELD. BY PROVIDING THESE INDIVIDUALS WITH THE TOOLS AND KNOWLEDGE NEEDED TO THRIVE IN THEIR CHOSEN FIELDS, WE ARE NOT ONLY TRANSFORMING THEIR LIVES BUT ALSO CONTRIBUTING TO THE OVERALL GROWTH AND PROSPERITY OF OUR COMMUNITY.THE IMPACT OF OUR PROGRAM EXTENDS BEYOND THE INDIVIDUALS IT DIRECTLY SERVES. BY INSPIRING OTHERS TO PURSUE THEIR DREAMS AND OVERCOME CHALLENGES, WE ARE CREATING A RIPPLE EFFECT THAT CAN POSITIVELY INFLUENCE COUNTLESS LIVES. WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY PERSON HAS THE POTENTIAL TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, AND WE ARE HONORED TO PLAY A ROLE IN UNLEASHING THAT POTENTIAL.MOVING FORWARD, WE ARE COMMITTED TO EXPANDING OUR PROGRAM TO REACH EVEN MORE INDIVIDUALS. OUR GOAL IS TO MAKE CAREER TRANSITIONS ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF THEIR BACKGROUND OR CIRCUMSTANCES. BY INVESTING IN THE HUMAN CAPITAL OF OUR COMMUNITY, WE ARE INVESTING IN A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR ALL.
