THE INTERNATIONAL ECZEMA COUNCIL (IEC) WAS FORMED TO OPERATE AS A PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION SERVING THE EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER NEEDS AND PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS OF DERMATOLOGISTS, RESEARCHERS, COMPANIES AND OTHER HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND ENTITIES INVOLVED IN THE FIELD OF ATOPIC DERMATITIS (AD) AND TO PROMOTE THE PRACTICE AND FIELD OF AD. IECS MISSION IS TO ENHANCE ITS MEMBERS CLINICAL AND RESEARCH PRACTICES AND PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS, AS WELL AS THE OVERALL FIELD OF AD. IEC WORKS TO FOSTER COLLABORATION AMONGST ITS MEMBERS, TO PROVIDE EDUCATION ON AD AND THE OPTIMAL MANAGEMENT OF AD, AND TO FACILITATE RESEARCH ON AD AND RELATED AREAS.

THE INTERNATIONAL ECZEMA COUNCIL PRESENTED MULTIPLE VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND ONE IN-PERSON SYMPOSIA, ISDS. TIMELY TOPICS IN ATOPIC DERMATITIS INCLUDED HAND ECZEMA, TREATMENT FOR AD IN PEDIATRICS, AND MANAGEMENT OF PATIENTS WITH ATOPIC DERMATITIS DURING COVID-19. THESE PROGRAMS TYPICALLY DRAW A LARGE AUDIENCE, MANY OF WHOM ARE THOUGHT LEADERS IN DERMATOLOGY WHO TEACH OTHERS REGARDING ATOPIC DERMATITIS. THE IEC COUNCILORS AND ASSOCIATES CONVENED VIRTUALLY DURING THE YEAR TO DISCUSS CURRENT LITERATURE, RESEARCH AND PRACTICE RELATED TO VARIOUS TOPICS IN ATOPIC DERMATITIS, AND TO DEVELOP AND PUBLISH MANUSCRIPTS IN RELEVANT MEDICAL JOURNALS REGARDING THEIR FINDINGS.
