PALOMACY PIGEON AND DOVE ADOPTIONS PROVIDED EXTENSIVE MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR 67 RESCUED PIGEONS AND DOVES. THIS VETERINARY CARE IS LIFESAVING AND INTEGRAL TO THE REHABILITATION AND ADOPTION OF THESE OTHERWISE ABUSED, NEGLECTED AND ABANDONED ANIMALS.
PALOMACY PIGEON AND DOVE ADOPTIONS PROVIDED FOOD, HOUSING AND ONGOING DAILY CARE FOR 369 BIRDS IN THE GREATER SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. THIS COUNT IS MADE UP ENTIRELY OF PREVIOUSLY LOST, ABANDONED, DUMPED, SICK AND INJURED PIGEONS AND DOVES. OUR FOSTERS INCLUDE BOTH STAFF AND ABOUT 52 VOLUNTEERS.
PALOMACY PIGEON AND DOVE ADOPTIONS ATTENDED 41 OUTREACH AND HUMANE ED EVENTS. OUR ATTENDANCE AT THESE EVENTS IS MADE POSSIBLE BY BOTH STAFF AND VOLUNTEER PARTICIPATION. IN ADDITION, THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS COMPLETED OUR OUTREACH AND ADVOCACY SERVICES: PHONE LINE HELP PROGRAM (STAFFED BY VOLUNTEERS), ONLINE HELP GROUP (MODERATED BY VOLUNTEERS), WEBSITE LIBRARY (MAINTAINED BY STAFF), FOSTER PROGRAM, ADOPTION PROGRAM (OVERSEEN BY EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ELIZABETH YOUNG AND CARE DIRECTOR JILL SHEPARD), REFERRAL PROGRAM (STAFF), RESCUE PROGRAM (RESCUES ARE PRIMARILY STAFF AND VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES, WITH OTHER RESCUES TAKING PLACE BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC WHO THEN REACH OUT TO US FOR HELP), RETENTION PROGRAM (OUR ADOPTERS RECEIVE LIFELONG HELP FOR THEIR BIRDS, PRIMARILY THROUGH CARE DIRECTOR JILL SHEPARD AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ELIZABETH YOUNG).
