PET FOOD AND SUPPLIES: NON-CASH AWARDS OF PET FOOD (317,231 LBS) AND PET SUPPLIES WERE DISTRIBUTED TO NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS (PRIMARILY FOOD BANKS) ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO ASSIST WITH THE FEEDING OF PETS BELONGING TO THE HOMELESS AND DISADVANTAGED. PET FOOD AND SUPPLIES THAT WERE PURCHASED BY THE ORGANIZATION WERE GIVEN TO THE NON-PROFITS. SLEEPING CRATES WERE SHIPPED DIRECTLY TO NON-PROFIT HOMELESS AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTERS.
EMERGENCY VETERINARY CARE: IN 2023, THERE WERE 2,309 INVOICES TOTALING $1,326,641 (AVERAGE OF $575) PAID TO 558 HOSPITALS IN 44 STATES WITH A TOTAL OF 1,705 PETS TREATED; 85% WERE DOGS, 14% WERE CATS WITH AN AVERAGE COST PER PET OF $770. SOME HOSPITALS GAVE A DISCOUNT. 62% OF THE CALLERS WERE WOMEN, 37% WERE MEN AND 8% WERE VETERANS. THE AVERAGE TIME THEY HAD BEEN HOMELESS WAS 3 YEARS. 29% WERE LIVING IN THEIR VEHICLES.
WELLNESS CLINICS: A TOTAL OF 4 HOSPITALS/CLINICS OF NON-PROFITS PERFORMED WELLNESS CLINICS IN THREE STATES TO A TOTAL OF 291 PETS. 3 OF THE HOSPITALS RECEIVED AN AWARD AND 1 OF THE HOSPITALS PERFORMED THE WELLNESS CLINICS WITHOUT AWARDS. WELLNESS CLINICS INCLUDE BASIC EXAMS AND VACCINATIONS. SOMETIMES SPAY/NEUTER PROCEDURES ARE PERFORMED AT THE LOCATION OF THE CLINIC. SPONSORSHIPS REQUIRED THAT REPORTING BE DONE WITHIN 120 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THE CLINIC VISIT. VISITS THAT TOOK PLACE AFTER SEPTEMBER MAY NOT BE REPORTED UNTIL 2024.
