SINCE OUR FOUNDING ON 2017, TERMINUS MODERN BALLET THEATRE (TERMINUS) HAS CREATED 16 ORIGINAL WORLD PREMIERE PRODUCTIONS THAT HAVE REACHED OVER 40,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS ACROSS METRO ATLANTA'S WESTSIDE, FULTON, SOUTH FULTON, MARIETTA, AND KENNESAW NEIGHBORHOODS, AND GEORGIA'S METROPOLITAN AREAS OF COLUMBUS, ATHENS, AND CARROLTON. OVER 60% OF THE VENUES WE PERFORM IN DO NOT TRADITIONALLY PRESENT PROFESSIONAL CONCERT DANCE, ENABLING US TO REACH 2,500 NEW AUDIENCE MEMBERS ANNUALLY, THEREBY INTRODUCING AND SERVING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS AND COMMUNITIES WITH WORLD CLASS PROFESSIONAL CONCERT DANCE. EXPANDING PERFORMANCES TO REACH GLOBAL AUDIENCES, THE ARTS STREAMING SERVICE MARQUEE T.V. AND TERMINUS HAVE PARTNERED TO STREAM THEIR DIGITAL FILMS ON DEMAND. INHERENT IN TERMINUS'S CORE BELIEFS IS MAKING BEAUTIFUL AND INSPIRING DANCE AN ACCESSIBLE PART OF OUR DAILY LIVES, AND BRINGING THE BALLET ART FORM OUT OF THE PAST AND INTO THE PRESENT THROUGH STORYTELLING. ALL OF OUR INNOVATIVE AND CREATIVE DANCE WORKS EXPLORE CONTEMPORARY THEMES, INCORPORATES THEATRICAL ELEMENTS, AND INTEGREATES DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONNECTING PEOPLE THROUGH THE BEAUTY, POWER, AND HUMANITY OF DANCE.
FOUNDED IN 2018 AS THE OFFICIAL SCHOOL OF PROFESSIONAL COMPANY, TERMINUS SCHOOL OF BALLET (TSB) HAS REACHED OVER 5,000 STUDENTS THROUGH ONGOING DANCE CLASSES, SUMMER INTENSIVES, AND OPEN WORKSHOPS WITH THE VISION OF TRAINING STUDENTS THAT CAN DANCE ANYWHERE AND ACHIEVE ANYTHING. UPON JOINING REGIONAL DANCE AMERICA (RDA) IN 2021 AND PARTICIPATING IN THEIR ANNUAL SOUTHEAST REGIONAL FESTIVAL, THE TERMINUS SCHOOL HAS SINCE RECEIVED TOP HONORS AND HAS DISTINGUISHED ITSELF AS A LEADING BALLET TRAINING CENTER IN THE SOUTHEASTERN U.S. MAKING WORLD CLASS DANCE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL AS A CORE COMPANY VALUE, THE SCHOOL HAS GIVEN OVER $110,000 IN FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND SCHOLARSHIPS TO ITS STUDENTS ENSURING FINANCIAL NEED DOES NOT ACT AS A BARRIER TO A TOP QUALITY DANCE EDUCATION AND RESULTING PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. TERMINUS STUDENTS EXCEL BOTH ONSTAGE AND ACADEMICALLY, REGULARLY EARNING TOP ACADEMIC HONORS WHILE BALANCING A RIGOROUS DANCE TRAINING SCHEDULE UP TO SIX DAYS A WEEK. EACH YEAR STUDENTS ARE AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS AND ADMISSION TO THE NATIONS TOP DANCE SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES; INCLUDING, USC'S GLORYA KAUFMAN SCHOOL OF DANCE, SCHOOL OF AMERICAN BALLET, JOFFREY BALLET, THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA, AND THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA TO NAME A FEW. IN AUGUST 2022, TSB MOVED INTO ITS NEWLY RENOVATED 7,700 SQ/FT HOME CENTRALLY LOCATED IN LOWER BUCKHEAD AT THE TULA ARTS CENTER. THIS WORLD CLASS DANCE FACILITY SERVES AS THE OPERATIONAL HOME OF THE SCHOOL AND COMPANY, AND ALLOWS THE ORGANIZATION TO EXPAND ITS SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY THROUGH INCREASED DANCE EDUCATION CLASSES, STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS, PUBLIC PERFORMANCES AND OPEN COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS.
TERMINUS ENGAGEMENT IS ENSURING THE BEAUTY OF DANCE IS MADE ACCESSIBLE TO DIVERSE POPULATIONS ACROSS THE METRO ATLANTA AREA AND GEORGIA, THROUGH FREE POP-UP PERFORMANCES, STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS, MASTER CLASSES, OPEN CLASSES, OPEN HOUSES, PARTNERSHIPS, AND PUBLIC EVENTS, WITH THE OVERARCHING GOAL IN REACHING AUDIENCES TRADITIONALLY UNDERSERVED BY BALLET AND PROFESSIONAL CONCERT DANCE. TERMINUS IS DEEPLY COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND HAS REACHED OVER 7,000 PEOPLE TO DATE.
