LANG CARES AIMS TO HELP ORGANIZATIONS, INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY THROUGH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY DRIVES, CHARITY EVENTS, AMONG OTHER ACTIVITIES. THE MAIN GOAL OF LANG CARES IS TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS IN AN EFFORT TO POSITIVELY CONTRIBUTE TO OUR COMMUNITY.

LANG CARES AWARDED THE FIRST ANNUAL LANG CARES FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR FUTURE COMMUNITY LEADERS TO TWO SENIORS AT NEWARK CHARTER SCHOOL IN MAY 2022. THE TWO STUDENTS RECEIVED A ONE-TIME SCHOLARSHIP IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,500 TO BE USED FOR THEIR FUTURE COLLEGE EXPENSES. LANG CARES WAS HONORED TO PRESENT THIS SCHOLARSHIP TO TWO HIGHLY QUALIFIED STUDENTS WHO HAVE SHOWN EXTREME SUCCESS BOTH IN AND OUT OF THE CLASSROOM. BOTH STUDENTS WERE ALSO HEAVILY INVOLVED IN THEIR LOCAL COMMUNITY THROUGH VOLUNTEERING THEIR TIME AND EFFORTS AT NUMEROUS ORGANIZATIONS.


IN JULY 2022, LANG CARES SPONSORED A NATURE CAMP FOR WILMINGTON HEAD START IN COLLABORATION WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE LAB SCHOOL. THE CAMP LASTED ONE WEEK AND ALLOWED CHILDREN FROM WILMINGTON HEAD START THE CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE NATURE FOR THE FIRST TIME. DAILY ACTIVITIES INCLUDED EXPLORING IN THE WOODS, PLAYING IN THE CREEK, LEARNING ABOUT NEARBY ANIMALS, AND DISCOVERING ALL THE JOYS OF BEING IN NATURE. WITH THE HELP OF TWO UD LAB SCHOOL LEAD TEACHERS, THE CAMP WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. WILMINGTON HEAD START IS A FREE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM THAT PROVIDES SERVICES TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES. THEIR CORE PROGRAM IS TAILORED TO MEET THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN AGES THREE TO FIVE. THE UNIVERSITY OF DELAWARE LAB SCHOOL IS AN INCLUSIVE EARLY LEARNING SCHOOL, SERVING CHILDREN AGED SIX MONTHS TO SIX YEARS. OUR TWO INSTRUCTORS FOR THE LANG CARES SPONSORED NATURE CAMP HAVE BEEN TEACHING AT THE UD LAB SCHOOL FOR MANY YEARS.


LANG CARES ALSO SPONSORED AND/OR DONATED FUNDS TO MANY ORGANIZATIONS IN 2022 INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING - SL24: UNLOCKE THE LIGHT, OAKLANDS SWIM CLUB, NEWARK POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE, COMMUNITY COLLABORATION OF DELAWARE, AND CHAPEL STREET PLAYERS AMONG OTHERS.
