WE ARE A NON-PARTISAN NETWORK OF CIVIC ASSOCIATIONS, FAITH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS AND NONPROFITS THAT COME TOGETHER TO EFFECT CHANGE ON A LARGER SCALE THAN WE COULD ALONE. WE IDENTIFY SHARED ISSUES AFFECTING OUR COMMUNITIES (SUCH AS HOUSING INSECURITY, MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND CLOSING THE TECHNOLOGY DIVIDE). WE BUILD LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS ACROSS LINES THAT OFTEN DIVIDE US. WE HELP REGULAR PEOPLE HAVE A SEAT AT THE DECISION-MAKING TABLES OF SILICON VALLEY.

SILICON VALLEY SPONSORING COMMITTEE'S PRIMARY GOAL IS TO MOVE SUCCESSFULLY TOWARD FOUNDING A NEWLY NAMED ORGANIZATION IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY BY NOVEMBER 2024. ADDITIONALLY, SVSC IS WORKING ON LOCAL NEIGHBORHOOD SAFETY ISSUES AND WORKING TO BUILD THE LONG-TERM ORGANIZATIONAL STRENGTH TO WORK ON SYSTEMIC ISSUES RELATED TO ECONOMIC EQUITY IN SANTA CLARA COUNTY. WE HAVE DONE THE FOLLOWING IN THE 2023:- ORGANIZED AN ASSEMBLY WITH OVER 175 PEOPLE FROM 15 INSTITUTIONS TOGETHER WITH SAN JOSE VICE-MAYOR KAMEI IN JANUARY TO OFFICIALLY LAUNCH A STRATEGY TOWARD A FOUNDING CONVENTION AS WELL AS GAIN COMMITMENTS FROM THE CITY TO FIX LIGHTING AND TRIM TREES IN THE LOW-INCOME EAST CADILLAC NEIGHBORHOOD.- HELD MULTIPLE RECRUITMENT MEETINGS IN INDIVIDUAL INSTITUTIONS AS WELL AS ACROSS THE COUNTY RESULTING IN 3 NEW INSTITUTIONS CONTRIBUTING TOWARD THE SPONSORING COMMITTEE SINCE JANUARY.- TRAINED 125 LEADERS ON ORGANIZING IN THEIR COMMUNITIES, OVER HALF OF WHOM WERE NEW.- LEADERS AND ORGANIZERS HELD OVER 45 INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS FROM SANTEE AND NEARBY, CADILLAC-WINCHESTER, AND SAN TOMAS AREA.- HELD SMALL GROUP CONVERSATIONS AFTER MISAS DEL BARRIO (MASS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD) EVERY MONTH ENGAGING A TOTAL OF 200 PEOPLE.- HELD ASSEMBLY ON JANUARY 18TH AT ST. LUCY PARISH WITH 175 PEOPLE AND SAN JOSE VICE-MAYOR KAMEI WHO COMMITTED TO GETTING TREES TRIMMED.- RECRUITED AND TRAINED 125 LEADERS TO ORGANIZE A TEAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPING THIS STRATEGY- VERY SUCCESSFUL TRAINING IN COORDINATION WITH "RECOGNIZING THE STRANGER" IN OCT. 2023
