SMALL BUSINESS GRANTS: APWEE ISSUED 11 SMALL BUSINESS GRANTS TO WOMEN IN NANGARHAR, AFGHANISTAN: TEN WOMEN RECEIVED SEWING MACHINES, SUPPLIES, AND SOLAR PANELS (TO POWER THE SEWING MACHINES) AND ONE WOMAN, WHO EMPLOYS 25 WOMEN IN HER BABY BED SHEET FACTORY, RECEIVED RAW MATERIALS. ALSO, APWEE PROVIDED 19 FEMALE WIDOWS 25 CHICKENS EACH IN LAGHMAN, AFGHANISTAN AND 40 LOW-INCOME LANDLESS FEMALE FARMWORKERS TWO GOATS AND FIVE CHICKENS EACH IN SIBI AND KACHI, BALOCHISTAN, PAKISTAN. LASTLY, APWEE SETUP A TAILORING AND SEWING WORKSHOP FOR WIDOWS IN KABUL, AFGHANISTAN; TRAINED DOZENS OF WOMEN IN TAILORING AND SEWING AND PROVIDED THEM WITH SEWING MACHINES, FABRICS, AND THREADS TO START BUSINESSES FROM THEIR HOMES.


DISASTER RELIEF: APWEE PROVIDED EMERGENCY FOOD PACKAGES, HYGIENE KITS, AND WINTER SURVIVAL KITS TO 120 EARTHQUAKE-AFFECTED FAMILIES IN KHOST, AFGHANISTAN, INCLUDING EARTHQUAKE-AFFECTED FAMILIES FROM PAKTIKA, AFGHANISTAN. ALSO, APWEE PROVIDED EARTHQUAKE RELIEF, INCLUDING TENTS AND HYGIENE KITS, TO 100 VICTIMS, PRIORITIZING DISADVANTAGED WOMEN, AND EMERGENCY FOOD PACKAGES TO 132 EARTHQUAKE-AFFECTED POOR FAMILIES IN HERAT, AFGHANISTAN.


BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND JOB TRAINING: APWEE CONDUCTED FOUR WOMEN'S ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORKSHOPS IN SIRIKOT VILLAGE, HARIPUR DISTRICT, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN AND MOHRA PHULGRAN, BHARA KAHU, AND KOT HATHIAL, ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN FOR 44 PAKISTANI WOMEN AND 45 FEMALE AFGHAN REFUGEES.
