PROJECT READ CHANGES LIVES THROUGH LITERACY AND EMPOWERS INDIVIDUALS, STRENGTHENS FAMILIES, BUILDS COMMUNITIES, AND CREATES NEW CYCLES OF INTERGENERATIONAL LITERACY. PROJECT READ PROVIDES INDIVIDUAL TUTORING AND SMALL GROUP INSTRUCTION TO HELP INDIVIDUALS IMPROVE THEIR ABILITY TO READ, WRITE, COMPUTE, AND USE TECHNOLOGY SUFFICIENTLY TO MEET PERSONAL GOALS, FUNCTION WELL IN SOCIETY, AND BECOME MORE PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN FY 2024, 234 VOLUNTEERS DONATED 6,417 HOURS AND HELPED PROJECT READ SERVE 181 STUDENTS WHO LEARNED SKILLS THAT IMPROVED NOT ONLY THEIR OWN PERSONAL LIVES BUT ALSO THE LIVES OF THEIR SPOUSES AND CHILDREN (183 IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS IMPACTED). DURING FY2024, 86 PERCENT OF PROJECT READ STUDENTS WHO WERE RETESTED USING THE COMPREHENSIVE ADULT STUDENT ASSESSMENT SYSTEM (CASAS) INCREASED THEIR SKILLS IN EITHER READING OR MATH. IN FY2024, 100 PERCENT OF PROJECT READS BASIC LITERACY STUDENTS ACHIEVED AT LEAST ONE LITERACY-RELATED GOAL. 105 ACHIEVED EDUCATION-RELATED GOALS, 102 ACHIEVED EMPLOYMENT-RELATED GOALS, 39 ACHIEVED LIFESTYLE GOALS, AND 26 ACHIEVED DIGITAL SKILLS GOALS.
