MEMBER SERVICES UNA EXISTS TO BUILD THE CAPACITY OF NONPROFITS SO THAT THEY ARE EQUIPPED TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN UTAH. MEMBERSHIP, OPEN TO NONPROFITS OF ALL KINDS, SIZES, AND CAUSE AREAS, INCLUDES ACCESS TO A BROAD PLATFORM OF 1) SPECIALIZED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (INCLUDING TRAINING AND RESOURCES) 2) COLLABORATION AND COMMUNITY-BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES (INCLUDING FORUMS, NETWORKING RECEPTIONS, AND ROUNDTABLES) 3) BENEFITS (INCLUDING PURCHASING DISCOUNTS, GROUP HEALTH-INSURANCE, A 401(K) RETIREMENT PLAN, A JOB BOARD, AN ADVOCACY BULLETIN BOARD, AND A COMMUNITY CALENDAR). UNA ALSO OFFERS MEMBERSHIP TO UTAH'S BUSINESSES, GOVERNMENT ENTITIES, FUNDERS, AND INDIVIDUALS. AT THE CLOSE OF 2023, UNA MEMBERSHIP INCLUDED 492 NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, 58 BUSINESSES, AND 38 INDIVIDUALS.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES IN 2023, UNA LAUNCHED A NEW STRATEGIC PLAN THAT EXPANDS ITS CRUCIAL WORK OF NONPROFIT CAPACITY-BUILDING TO INCLUDE THE FORTIFICATION OF CONNECTIONS BETWEEN ORGANIZATIONS, FUNDERS, BUSINESSES, GOVERNMENT ENTITIES, AND INDIVIDUALS TO CREATE A TRUE COMMUNITY WORKING IN CONCERT TO AID AND NURTURE ALL OF UTAH. TOWARD THIS EFFORT, 2023 SAW THE DELIVERY OF A COMMUNITY CALENDAR, AN ADVOCACY BULLETIN BOARD, A FILM SCREENING, NEW COLLABORATIVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONALS IN THE SECTOR AND PILOTED, TO GREAT SUCCESS, THE SALT LAKE CITY NONPROFIT FORM. THE FORUM CONVENED 52 NONPROFIT PROFESSIONALS FROM SALT LAKE CITY, THE MAYOR, AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY STAFF FOR AN AFTERNOON DESIGNED TO CREATE THE FOUNDATION FOR WORKING TOGETHER TO SOLVE COMMUNITY CHALLENGES. UNA ALSO HELD ITS 15TH ANNUAL NONPROFIT DAY ON THE HILL WHERE NONPROFITS MET WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS AND THE PUBLIC TO ADVANCE THEIR CAUSES.
CREDENTIAL AND TRAINING UNA PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL EVENTS, NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES, AND PUBLICATIONS THAT SERVE TO ANSWER THE EXPRESSED NEEDS, INTERESTS, AND EXPERIENCES OF UTAH NONPROFITS SO THAT THEY MAY BETTER SERVE OUR COMMUNITIES. IN 2023, UNA GATHERED 1,089 ATTENDEES FROM 515 ORGANIZATIONS AT 51 SPONSORED EVENTS. IN ADDITION TO ITS CORE EVENT TOPICS-FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, HUMAN RESOURCES, GOVERNANCE, FUNDRAISING, COMMUNICATIONS, LEADERSHIP, ADVOCACY, AND VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT-THE ORGANIZATION OFFERED A SALT LAKE CITY NONPROFIT FORUM, DOCUMENTARY FILM SCREENING, AND PEER-LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. DELIVERED ACROSS 18 DAYS OF TRAINING PER YEAR, IN 2023, UNA'S HALLMARK PROGRAM, THE NONPROFIT CREDENTIAL TRAINED 231 PARTICIPANTS ACROSS 111 ORGANIZATIONS IN NINE TOPICS ESSENTIAL TO NONPROFIT EFFECTIVENESS. SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE UNA TEAM TO DELIVER COMPREHENSIVE, PRACTICAL COURSES, FEATURING TOPIC-SPECIFIC DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION (DEI) FRAMEWORKS AND STRATEGIES, AND PROVIDED 115 HOURS OF CONSULTATIONS TO PARTICIPANTS. UPON COMPLETION OF AN EXHAUSTIVE LIST OF COURSE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS, UNA AWARDS ORGANIZATIONS A CREDENTIAL BADGE; IN 2023, UNA AWARDED 16 BADGES. THE PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF INFORMATION AND RESOURCES TO ADVANCE NONPROFIT CAPACITY.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE THE 2023 UNA ANNUAL CONFERENCE, BETTER TOGETHER, WELCOMED 452 ATTENDEES FROM OVER 175 NONPROFITS, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS. THE SOLD-OUT EVENT INCLUDED A KEYNOTE ADDRESS FOCUSED ON COLLABORATION FOR IMPACT, 19 EXPERT-LED BREAKOUT SESSIONS, DEDICATED NETWORKING SESSIONS, AND OPPORTUNITIES TO SUPPORT ATTENDEE ENGAGEMENT. ATTENDEES SENT OVER A THOUSAND MESSAGES ON THE COMMUNITY BOARDS, UPLOADED PHOTOS TO THE CONFERENCE APP, AND SHARED POSITIVE FEEDBACK ON THE POST-EVENT SURVEY AND MET WITH 38 BUSINESSES IN THE EXPO HALL.
