PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - NONPROFITS RELY ON UNA FOR THE RESOURCES, MATERIALS, AND INFORMATION THAT THEY NEED TO INCREASE THEIR CAPACITY AND THEIR IMPACT. UNA MEETS THIS NEED BY CREATING AND DELIVERING UNIQUE, AFFORDABLE, AND PRACTICAL TRAINING THROUGH THE UNA CREDENTIAL, ITS ANNUAL CONFERENCE, ADVOCACY ESSENTIALS, AND OTHER TOPICAL SESSIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN 2021, UNA SAW 275 ORGANIZATIONS FILL 906 SEATS AT 53 DIFFERENT TRAINING SESSIONS. THE CONFERENCE, HELD VIRTUALLY, SAW 530 PARTICIPANTS FROM 125 DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE NINE CREDENTIAL COURSES TRAINED 177 PEOPLE IN BEST PRACTICES FOR SPECIFIC AREAS ESSENTIAL TO NONPROFITS. (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O)THE UNA CREDENTIAL PROGRAM EQUIPS NONPROFITS WITH PRACTICAL TOOLS DESIGNED TO CREATE LONG-TERM SUSTAINABILITY. IN 2021, A RECORD 45 CREDENTIAL BADGES WERE AWARDED IN RECOGNITION OF ORGANIZATIONS IMPLEMENTING BEST PRACTICES, BRINGING THE TOTAL AWARDED SINCE 2015 TO 201. UNA ALSO PROVIDED OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FOR NONPROFIT PROFESSIONALS TO NETWORK, LEARN FROM EACH OTHER, AND RECEIVE EXPERT-LED TRAINING.UNA'S YOUTUBE CHANNEL SAW OVER 1,00 VIEWS AND ITS ON-DEMAND VIEWING DELIVERED AN ADDITIONAL 150 HOURS OF INSTRUCTION. UNA TRAINING HELPED NONPROFITS ACCESS FEDERAL FUNDING, BETTER MANAGE THEIR DATA, SPEAK TO THE ISSUES THAT MATTER TO THEIR STAKEHOLDERS, AND EMBRACE DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION IN THEIR ORGANIZATIONS. INDIVIDUALS LEFT TRAINING WITH A DEEPER APPRECIATION FOR IMPROVING THE FUNCTIONING OF THEIR BOARD OF DIRECTORS AS WELL AS PROVEN WAYS FOR INCREASING FUNDRAISING
MEMBER SERVICES - UNA SERVICES SUPPORT NONPROFITS OF EVERY SIZE AND CAUSE AREA AS WELL AS THEIR STAFF MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS. AT THE CLOSE OF 2021, UNA COUNTED 588 NONPROFIT MEMBERS, 46 BUSINESS MEMBERS, AND 43 INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS. TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, GROUP PURCHASING PROGRAMS, ACCESS TO COST-EFFECTIVE GROUP HEALTH-INSURANCE, BACKGROUND CHECK SERVICES, GRANT SEEKING DATABASES, INFORMATION, RESEARCH ON NONPROFIT SECTOR ISSUES, AND NETWORKING ACTIVITIES PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH PRACTICAL WAYS TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY. THE UNA HELP DESK, LAUNCHED IN THE FALL OF 2020, ANSWERED 473 QUESTIONS ABOUT FUNDRAISING, HUMAN RESOURCES, FINANCE, AND MORE. THE UNA JOB BOARD POSTED 1,357 POSITIONSA 40% INCREASE OVER 2020'S 813 POSTS AND UNA'S GROUP HEALTH INSURANCE COVERED 947 INDIVIDUALS.
ADVOCACY ENGAGEMENT - UNA PROVIDES AVENUES FOR NONPROFITS TO UNDERSTAND HOW THEY CAN ENGAGE WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS AND THE PROPER WAYS TO ADVANCE THEIR MISSION THROUGH ADVOCACY. 2021 NONPROFIT DAYS ON THE HILL, A VIRTUAL EVENT DESIGNED TO SUPPORT NONPROFITS' NEED FOR SOUND PUBLIC POLICY AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, INCLUDED WATCH PARTIES, ONLINE TRAINING WITH LEGISLATIVE STAKEHOLDERS, MEETINGS WITH ELECTED OFFICIALS, AND A LEGISLATIVE SESSION RECAP.
