VETERANS ON COURSE (VOC) WAS STARTED BY THE UTAH GOLF FOUNDATION IN 2016 AS A PILOT PROGRAM TO PROVIDE INSTRUCTION AND PLAYING OPPORTUNITIES TO MILITARY VETERANS FREE OF CHARGE. EACH EVENT INCLUDES ONE HOUR OF LESSONS FROM PGA PROFESSIONALS, A NINE-HOLE SCRAMBLE GOLF TOURNAMENT, AND AN AFTER-PLAY SOCIAL WITH DINNER AND A KEYNOTE SPEAKER. THE UTAH GOLF FOUNDATION HOSTED TEN EVENTS DURING THE 2023 SEASON, INCLUDING SEVEN CO-ED EVENTS THROUGHOUT NORTHERN UTAH, ONE CO-ED EVENT IN SOUTHERN UTAH, AND ONE WOMEN'S EVENT IN NORTHERN UTAH.
YOUTH ON COURSE (YOC) IS AN INTERNATIONAL 501(C)(3) NONPROFIT CURRENTLY OPERATING AT 2,100 PARTICIPATING GOLF COURSES THROUGHOUT THE U.S., AUSTRALIA,AND CANADA, AND IMPACTING MORE THAN 240,000 MEMBERS. YOC PROVIDES JUNIOR MEMBERS AGES 6-18 ACCESS TO ROUNDS OF GOLF FOR 5 OR LESS FOR NINE HOLES BY SUBSIDIZING PARTICIPATING COURSES. THE 2023 YOC UTAH SEASON INCLUDED 34 UTAH GOLF COURSES. NEARLY 5,000 YOC UTAH MEMBERS PLAYED 20,000 ROUNDS OF GOLF, AND THE UTAH GOLF FOUNDATION REIMBURSED PARTICIPATING UTAH FACILITIES 87,000.
