THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO PROMOTE MUSIC AND TO ORGANIZE, PREPARE, AND CONDUCT THE GINA BACHAUER INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION.

Part 3 - Line 4a

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS: 2 YOUTH COMPETITIONS WERE PRESENTED ON YOUTUBE AND THE BACHAUER WEBSITE, WITH 44 YOUNG PIANISTS FROM 14 COUNTRIES COMPETING IN JUNE 2021. CHOSEN FROM AN ORIGINAL POOL OF 220 APPLICANTS, 113 PIANISTS PERFORMED IN THE PRELIMINARY ROUNDS IN HAMBURG, MOSCOW, SHANGHAI, NEW YORK CITY, AND SALT LAKE CITY. POSTPONED FROM 2020, THE SOLO ROUNDS WERE CONDUCTED THROUGH VIDEO RECORDINGS DUE TO THE IMPOSSIBILITY OF THE COMPETITORS AND JUDGES TRAVELING TO UTAH.


CONCERT SERIES: 3 VIRTUAL CONCERTS WERE PRESENTED ONLINE. RECORDED AT THE ROSE WAGNER PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, VIDEOGRAPHERS, SOUND ENGINEERS, AND SET DESIGNERS WORKED WITH PIANISTS TO CREATE THREE COLORFUL AND DISTINCT CONCERTS. CAMERA ANGLES, ARTIST COMMENTARY, UNUSUAL SETS, BRILLIANT PLAYING, AND A STEINWAY CONCERT GRAND PIANO WERE ALL UTILIZED TO OFFER UNIQUE EXPERIENCES.


PIANO INSPIRATO: A SERIES OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS PRESENTED ON YOUTUBE, WITH WORLD-CLASS PIANISTS EXPLORING GREAT PIANO MUSIC. TOPICS RANGE FROM A FAMILY OF PIANISTS INSPIRING EXCELLENCE, THE RIVALRY OF CHOPIN AND LISZT, THE HISTORY OF TANGO, A MUSICAL MENAGERIE OF ANIMALS, AND MUSICAL JOURNEYS THROUGH EXOTIC LANDS. TWO PROGRAMS WERE OFFERED IN OTHER LANGUAGES (SPANISH AND MANDARIN). DESIGNED TO SUPPLEMENT MUSIC IN OUR SCHOOLS, WHICH TYPICALLY TAKES ARTISTS AND A STEINWAY GRAND PIANO DIRECTLY TO SCHOOLS.
