TO DEVELOP AND EQUIP ORTHODOX YOUNG ADULTS TO LEAD LIVES OF FAITHFUL SERVICE FOR CHURCH AND WORLD.

DURING THE 2022-23 FISCAL YEAR, OVC LAUNCHED ITS FULL-TIME PROGRAM IN PITTSBURGH. SIX INAUGURAL CORPS MEMBERS SPENT 10 MONTHS,FOUR DAYS PER WEEK, SERVING ON THE FRONT LINES: IN A DROP-IN HOMELESS SHELTER, IN AFTER-SCHOOL TUTORING PROGRAMS, AT A FREE MEDICAL CLINIC, AND IN TRAUMA-INFORMED COMMUNITY OUTREACH. THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, CORPS MEMBERS WERE STRENGTHENED IN THEIR SERVICE AND GROWTH THROUGH INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY LIVING, WEEKLY FULL-DAY SEMINARS, AND LOCAL PARISH COMMUNITIES. IN ADDITION TO RUNNING THE FULL-TIME PROGRAM, OVC CONDUCTED SUCCESSFUL RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION TO SECURE A SECOND COHORT FOR 2023-24. OVC ALSO RECRUITED PLACEMENT PARTNERS IN PREPARATION FOR 2023-24, AND WE ALSO LAID THE GROUNDWORK FOR PROGRAM EXPANSION--THE LAUNCH OF A PART-TIME PROGRAM TO BEGIN IN 2023-24 IN PITTSBURGH. WE ALSO ARE ENGAGED IN PLANNING FOR GEOGRAPHIC EXPANSION.
