TO DEVELOP AND EQUIP ORTHODOX YOUNG ADULTS TO LEAD LIVES OF FAITHFUL SERVICE FOR CHURCH AND WORLD.

DURING 2021-22, ITS FIRST FULL YEAR, ORTHODOX VOLUNTEER CORPS (OVC) LAID THE GROUNDWORK FOR ITS PROGAMMATIC LAUNCH. THESE FOUNDATIONAL PROGRAMMATIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS FELL INTO THREE CATEGORIES. FIRST, OVC RECRUITED PARTICIPANTS FOR ITS FULL-TIME SERVICE PROGRAM. EFFORTS INCLUDED PHYSICAL AND VIRTUAL VISITS TO COLLEGE AND YOUNG ADULT GROUPS, CONDUCTING INTERVIEWS ON ORTHODOX PODCASTS, ESTABLISHING AND POSTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND A WEBSITE, HOSTING INFORMATIONAL SESSIONS, AS WELL AS DESIGNING AND EXECUTING A SELECTION PROCESS. SECOND, OVC RECRUITED AND SELECTED NONPROFIT PLACEMENT PARTNERS FOR THE FULL-TIME SERVICE PROGRAM. EFFORTS INCLUDED IN-PERSON, VIRTUAL, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND WEB OUTREACH; OVC ALSO DESIGNED AND EXECUTED A PROCESS FOR SELECTING PLACEMENTS AS WELL AS MATCHING PLACEMENTS WITH OVC CORPS MEMBERS. THIRD, OVC ESTABLISHED THE PROGRAMMATIC STRUCTURE FOR ITS FULL-TIME INITIATIVE. THESE EFFORTS INCLUDED DESIGNING THE CURRICULUM AND TESTING IT THROUGH A WEEK-LONG COLLEGE SERVICE PROJECT; RESEARCHING AND SECURING HOUSING FOR THE COMMUNAL LIVING COMPONENT OF THE PROGRAM, AS WELL AS FULLY FURNISHING THE HOUSE; AND, FINALLY, ESTABLISHING POLOCIES AND PROCEDURAL DOCUMENTS FOR PARTICIPANTS.
